Over the Counter Cold/Flu Meds Worth It any More?

I hate Ohio weather........... Yesterday I felt fine. Today I could do my own commercial for flu medicine.

I've got itchy watery eyes,I can't quit sneezing, my nose is all stuffy and tickles yet it won't quite running. I've went through over half a box of kleenex since 10 am. My face hurts, I've got a headache, I'm tired and achey and if I lay down I'm just restless.and my head feels like it's going to explode, I can't seem to get enough to drink, I feel like I swallowed cotton balls, and I'm cold...........I'm so cold. It's not bad enough to need prescription anything , I just feel miserable.

It sucks that they changed Nyquil to keep it on the shelves. Now it's not even worth taking.
Well the silver lining is, I don't have a cough or sore throat.

So for now I am going to take a hot shower to warm up and then I'm going to try and take a nap.......any other ideas....uhh..to get rid of this feeling?
And how the heck does it sneak up and attack someone so quickly?

I always use TheraFlu...the kind that you mix with hot water and drink. Try the severe cold/flu brand - you can buy drowsy or non-drowsy. That always seems to help me.....and plenty of rest! Hope you feel better soon

Well,if you're a tea-person,some of that with some lemon and dark honey. Also breathing in steam helps because it sounds like you have a bad sinus attack and its sure to open them up and clear all the yucky stuff out.

It doesn't have the decongestant that it used to have. It also doesn't have the stuff to help get sleep either. All that stuff is still considered over the counter meds, but you have to ask the pharmacist for it because they keep it behind the counter. Too many people buying it all up to make meth. and make sure you take an id with you...at least here in Ohio.
It used to be great...take a dose and fall asleep within half an hour and sleep for at least two hours....Now, nothing.

1 cup hot tea, preferred flavor
1 shot whiskey
2 teaspoons honey
1/4 lemon, squeezed into cup, then added.
1 pack theraflu
2 aspirins, crushed into the cup.
Stir briskly
Drink hot.
Get into bed, covered in a lot of blankets.
Add water, much as you can drink, slowly, dont gulp.
Sweat like hell.

If not better feelin in a few hours, drink more mix ( minus theraflu and aspirin) till you dont give a shit how you're feeling... (the whiskey)

I can't take a lot of cold/flu meds cuz it triggers panic attacks.. so my best treatment is to get some fenugreek seeds at the local health food store.. and make a strong tea with it.. dries up mucus membranes.. add honey and lemon.. tastes kinda odd.. but if you like Indian food you will be ok.
