I bet the grocery stores are full of people buying their french toast fixins!!!

Why is bread eggs and milk the first thing people buy?!?!? I don't drink milk or eat eggs.... what would I want to buy if I was snowed in!??! Hell if I'm going to be stuck at home for days, I'd want to eat some steak! Shrimp!! But realistically... I guess I'd buy soups and stuff... bread yes and sandwich fixins... I couldn't live on french toast tho!

I've shovelled so much snow the last few weeks, the snow banks around my driveway are getting too high to throw snow over. We've gotten over 100 inches so far this year. Farther north of me they have had more.

As far as food, we're so used to heavy snow here, I can't remember the last day I was snowed in. I only called off business travel one day so far this year.

If their was a chance of being snowed in. I would go out and get milk, water, cereal, bread, and a lot of different sandwich fixins. If we got snowed in here we probably not have power to cook either. But would rather eat steak and potatoes anyday.

I hated working at the grocery store during winter......when there was a storm, people would have 4 carts fulla shit....Ummm, Let me ask you....When was the last time you actually got SNOWED IN???

hmmm.. I guess the blizzard of 92.... We've had a few snows here and there since ... if there isn't 2 feet of snow on the ground.. I do like to venture out in it... I hate being snowed in... well.. unless I had a fun friend to be snowed in with, then bring it on!!!

It's snowing in this part of Tn. as well. We have about 2 inches on the ground and still coming down pretty good but it is nothing like other parts of the country have had.

I have a wood stove for my back up I would have that cranked up incase of an Power outtage, plus I can cook on it...and I do have my ole camping gear..
I dont run to the store and buy a bunch of shit!!! I just make sure I have plenty of Ciggs and Beer!
I too use to work at an Gro. store... OMG...most ppl stock up like they are gonna be snowed in for months!!! WTF?

At the first of winter I stock my cupboards with extra canned goods and a little extra meat in the freezer. I can't buy milk by the gallon....can't drink it before it goes bad so if I'm low on milk, I'll make a milk run if the weather is gonna turn bad.

I'm more prone to buy stuff to make soup.

There's very little weather here in Indiana that people aren't use to so unless its prolonged blizzard conditions we're usually back out and runnin' in a couple of days. I could live that long and more without food as long as I have my coffee and cigarettes...

umm, last winter.
And do ice storms count? This winter for 3 days.

I usually grab Lean Cuisine dinners, soups, eggs and maybe potatoes. And diet code red.. Can't forget that !! lol

I'm tired of snow..and ice storms ..and frigid temps, and it's only the middle of Jan.

Here in Ohio I laugh when people here a few flurries are coming. They flock to the store and buy whatever. I can see stopping to get milk, bread and pop. And don't forget the cigs. But you sure don't need two months worth of food in one trip. Now the ice storm we had was bad about 6 years ago. No electric. No heat. Don't ask me how I made it to work but I did. We were closed and I still had to go to work just incase the electric came back on. Stupid policy.

I won't forget the AEP men that came here from Michigan..

Up here, we can sure tell the people who came from the south. Most have overflowing carts, while rest of us treat it as just another day.....Hey, it's Jan...going to be cold and snowy......thats the way it is up here....BTW, it hit 20 today and great big snowflakes were falling....t-shirt and shorts weather......

Jan 19 @ 9:54PM
Hell, as long as I had my frozen pizzas, chocolates, pepsi, and pop tarts, I'll be happy!

Yeah, I remember that Feb. 2003 ice storm. Here in my area we didn't have electric for 5 days. Finally some Cinergy crews from Cincinnati restored all of us AEP customers. They were down my alley. Talked with a few of them to find out when they may get our power back on that night.
