For conduct on or about January 15th 2009, While Commanding U.S. Air Flight 1549. over the Hudson River, NY theater of operation, Your display of Decisive Decision Making, Professional and Cool Demeanor "Under Fire" and Exemplary and Expert Piloting Skill has not only set the standard for airline safety around the would, they are in keeping with the highest traditions of the both the United States Air Force that trained you, as well as the Air Carrier Service you have dedicated your life to. You, and your Second Officer did contribute materially and substantially to the survival of your 155 passengers and crew with no fatalities and a very minimum of casualties.

I extend to you now my hearty "Well Done", as dose, I'm sure, a grateful nation.
