When I arrived at work yesterday 10 minutes before 4pm - a feat in itself if I'm there early - I found a little envelope with my name on it with a small bag of M & Ms attached to it. It was from my Department Manager Maria, who happens to be one of the nicest people around. (We have the same Orthodontist - Maria has Invisalign and I opted for metal.) Anyway, I opened the envelope and there was a cute little card in it that said "Congrats!" on the front and the following was written in the card ---
Lorie,
On Dec 31, 2008, one of your calls was reviewed by PAS. Your call was perfect! I'm not surprised - you always strive to do an outstanding job. Thank you Lorie!
Maria Maria is one of the BEST department managers that we ever had since I've been working at the IRS. She's really tough, but she always recognizes good work - especially cases and calls that have been reviewed by PAS...never knew, heard or found out what the acronym stands for - will have to find out.
Working at the IRS - especially having to handle taxpayer phone calls - isn't easy and the taxpayers don't always like what you tell them, but it's really nice to get positive feedback from your boss's boss on how well you're doing your job. :-)
