Laughter and Crying
posted 1/6/2009 10:25:21 AM |
Have you noticed that laughter and crying are very similar. They both seem to result in a calming effect. I prefer laughter particularly the type that causes the eyes to bug out and large quantities of bodily fluids to be expelled.
I can hear many of you saying .."Bort ..that sounds like an orgasm". Well I can honestly say that I enjoy that too, but when the opportunity to explode my bullocks is unavailable ..I'll choose the laughter.or maybe I'll cry cus I'm not gettn laid.
The only time I get into trouble is when I"m compelled to laugh during inappropriate times...like church, funerals, weddings and poitical speeches. I've spent many hours standing in the hallway because I was kicked out of class for laughing hystercally because someone farted or got beaned with a spit ball. Laughter is just something I've always had difficulting controling because I enjoy the way it makes me feel.

I laugh at the most inappropriate times too....Almost got fired from a job because I watched a customer drop a jar of loose change all over the front end of the store and I burst out laughing. My manager handed me a broom and dust pan and made me apologize and hep pick up all the money.

Some people just can't seem to see the humor in things...I've gotten some dreadful looks which of course made me laugh all the harder.

I believe laughter really is good for the soul.......and it does make a person feel better.
As long as you aren't actually laughing at someone in the sense of making fun of them, I see no harm in it.
I like to laugh.and I feel better when I do. It's a lot better than crying.

I couldn't agree with you more borty293. But there is something to be said for a really good cry it helps get some of the pent up feelings you might be having at that time.

That spontanous crying out of nowhere happens to me too. No particular reason for it..just happens....I used to be an actor so when I cry ..I milk it for all its worth...whch includes falling down on the bathroon floor thinking of every rotten thing that's ever been done to me. Fortunately I live alone so nobody has to witness my convulsive body writhing on the floor for no apparent reason. Then when I'm finished I usually look in the mirror at my tear streaked face and laugh my ass off....

I can't decide whether to laugh, to cry or to go postal.. but I'm leaning toward the latter.

Haven't cried in sadness in a while but have cried laughing

I'm the oddball....seldom belly laugh but I chuckle alot. Same for crying....can't remember the last time I cried. The only time I cry easily is when I am raging angry and the tears just piss me off that much more. I'm not a crier, never have been and now I'll do about anything to block it....personal reasons.

Oh yeah, I would laugh my ass off too if someone did this where everything was quiet.
