Here's the necessary items one needs for fun in decorating the house for Christmas:

1. A couple of strings of lights. One string for the tree, one for the window. ( If you want to use more than that, go for it.)

2. A few strands of garland.

3. Of course those pretty glass ornaments

4. Sense of humor (believe me....once you get to the fifth and final item, you will understand )

5. 3 playful kittens!

Oh yeah, I've had quite a entertaining afternoon today decorating for Christmas. (Yes, I called it Christmas, I don't buy into that politically correct insanity ) So, let's start with the tree. I have an artificial tree, so I haul the box out of storage, forgot how damned heavy it was. Then the fun of putting this tree together and getting the branches to look full and natural...all the while I have 5 dogs watching me like I'm nuts. Then there are 3 curious kittens nosing around, batting at the branches on the tree, and, when I finally win the battle getting the thing together....I catch on of the kittens trying to climb it. Now, the strand of lights. Yep, the kittens thought that was just the coolest string to play with. For the moment at least. Onto the ornaments, the kittens thought they were just the greatest things to bat at until it fell and rolled across the floor. Didn't break any though. Last but not least, the garland. Now the kittens are in heaven...they would not leave that stuff alone! And then, after I got my tree all done and looking pretty.....I saw it start to of the kittens had gotten hold of the end to the garland and was trying to run off with it!

Yeah, they're lucky they're cute, and that I have a good sense of humor. Now, I'm gonna lock the little hellions up and grab a beer to relax. But tree is up, and it looks good For now.

Anyone want 3 kittens? They're cute.

One Christmas when I was married, we decided to incorporate some old Christmas ways into the the tree. The key dimension way using popcorn for garland. I can still vividly recall my ex and daughter watching a movie and being able, without taking their eyes screen, to do take the popcorn and put it on a thread with a needle. That tree looked so cool!!!

Well, after it was done we went to the mall. When we returned, we found the seven foot tree knocked over, ornaments broken, and popcorn garland gone. One dog looked sheepish and the 90 pound airedale booked off to the bedroom. Apparently. she started off at the bottom of the string and worked her way up munching popcorn until she toppled the tree.

My ex was so pissed!! Usually when all was said and done, my ex said much (bitching) but did little. Not this time. I just stayed out of it. The offending bow wow got ostracized by being thrown out to the backyard for several hours and it wasn't very pleasant weather.

That's funny! I got a picture last year of my sister's cat peering out of the branches of their tree...they could not keep him out of it. It is so cute!

This year he has grown to one big fat cat and I think he'd bring the tree down if he climbed in it. Funny how this year he has no interest in it...same as my cats.

I got brave last night and sprinkled a few icicles on my tree then had to leave. My tree sits on a big table so I surrounded it with anything I could get my hands on to barracade it. It wasn't necessary....they are oblivious that it is even there...and am I glad...

Dec 10 @ 7:37PM dog has already broken a few ornaments.....

I have 2 cats and they will NOT leave my tree alone

My big fat cat likes to lay in the branches and smush it down so I have a huge hole in it and the other one won't leave the fucking ornaments alone I pretty much give up....the tree is just gonna have to look like shit lol
