Here's the necessary items one needs for fun in decorating the house for Christmas:
1. A couple of strings of lights. One string for the tree, one for the window. ( If you want to use more than that, go for it.)
2. A few strands of garland.
3. Of course those pretty glass ornaments
4. Sense of humor (believe me....once you get to the fifth and final item, you will understand )
5. 3 playful kittens!
Oh yeah, I've had quite a entertaining afternoon today decorating for Christmas. (Yes, I called it Christmas, I don't buy into that politically correct insanity ) So, let's start with the tree. I have an artificial tree, so I haul the box out of storage, forgot how damned heavy it was. Then the fun of putting this tree together and getting the branches to look full and natural...all the while I have 5 dogs watching me like I'm nuts. Then there are 3 curious kittens nosing around, batting at the branches on the tree, and, when I finally win the battle getting the thing together....I catch on of the kittens trying to climb it. Now, the strand of lights. Yep, the kittens thought that was just the coolest string to play with. For the moment at least. Onto the ornaments, the kittens thought they were just the greatest things to bat at until it fell and rolled across the floor. Didn't break any though. Last but not least, the garland. Now the kittens are in heaven...they would not leave that stuff alone! And then, after I got my tree all done and looking pretty.....I saw it start to sway....one of the kittens had gotten hold of the end to the garland and was trying to run off with it!
Yeah, they're lucky they're cute, and that I have a good sense of humor. Now, I'm gonna lock the little hellions up and grab a beer to relax. But hey....my tree is up, and it looks good For now.
Anyone want 3 kittens? They're cute.
