I have friend who is a pretty good guy but he has this sense of humor that is odd and not really funny to anybody beyond himself. A few years ago, I was having some friends over for some cards and dominos, and invited him over. After a while, the liquor began to make people a bit happy, him in particular. People were laughing and joking, recalling old times.
He went off into a story and was cracking up laughing so much that nobody could figure out what was so funny. Then he would compose himself, retell the story and nobody could figure out what was so funny. Everybody just looked at him perplexed.
The next day he called me and said he had a pretty good time but that everybody needed to loosen up. I didn't understand and asked what he had meant. He said that no one had a sense of humor, that whenever he told a joke or a funny story, everybody just sat there.
I told him that everybody was laughing at each other's stories and jokes, just not his. "Why dis people as not enjoying a good time? It is not a matter of them not having a sense of humor. It's a matter of nobody finding you funny but you." I have known a few people like that and seen a few more on here.

i know lots of people like that .especially as professional comedians.
or comediennes. like you watch tv, its supposed to be a comedy,
and no one even laughs. or how about roseanne barr or married with
children. or all the other allegedly funny shows on tv. some people
laugh uproariously at tragic events. like while watching films
of the nazi holocaust the break out into raucous laughter. in fact
i saw some films of the holocaust, thousands of women lined
up in the nude, laughing and joking in gallows humour as they
were then led to be submachined gunned to death and pushed
in a pit by a giant bulldozer. nothing really funny about it all.
yet they had a sense of humour about the whole ridiculous
stupidity and absolute absurdity of the whole situation
even life in general. i've known more horses asses than horses.
they all give you the horse laugh. even mr. ed wasn't really funny either.
the talking horse. mr. ed was full of horseshit. and all the canned laughter
on tv, buncha bullshit. phoney crowds phoney audiences. do you
like the price is right with that jackass bob barker? what an asshole.
all the god damn game show bullshit. and fuck vanna white too. that
show 'wheel of fortune' is a buncha crap. do you watch jeopardy.
more b.s. and that jackass what's his fuckin name, alex trebec.
thinks he's so sophisticated and well dressed. what a fop.
he should be sissy of the year. you mean all the hollywood horseshit.
and all the happy horseshit. they think its funny we've all lost
every dime. they're laughing all the way to the swiss secret accounts
with our money. the f.b.i. can't even crack the case. cause they
really don't give a shit either. if it was their money, they'd do something about
it. they don't give a flying fuck. all they care about is their fuckin pension
and getting paid and getting laid.

perhaps your sence of humor is so DRY that you dont find anything funny unless its politically correct. would you laugh at someone falling down the stairs?
I would but I would also help them up while laughing...Does that make me a bad person...Hell no. I just find humor in every day life.
why complain about so and so breaking his leg on the stairs...laugh about it and get over it...he will in 6 weeks or so...
Try it....you might like it.
