yes the dreaded fruitcake  ,its been going around the family now for 12 years  ,seems like it makes its way back to me about every 3rd year  ,think I will try to sell it on ebay if I get it this year

FYI----According to some news articles lately, fruitcake can last up to 25 years if properly wrapped and stored.
I guess you'll be seeing it a few more times!!!!

yes once I did...
My old boss used to give us X-mas centerpieces that his aunt made every year....well by the 3rd year I was tired of having a x-mas centerpiece...I mean how many can you have? They were very nice though...probably would cost at least $50 to buy, but I already had 2 of them, so I gave it to someone....they didn't know and were happy with it!

Am I the only one that will stand up and proudly admit that I re-gift?  My daughter's in-laws are always giving me gifts of stuff I will never use. They don't really know me but want to do something thoughtful. I appreciate the gesture but, well, you know. I do shop ahead and buy things when they are a good deal and keep a container of things of all occasion gifts. Just in case.

well its what ya mean by regifted, I have gotten something that i couldn't use and gave it to a friend or a girl i was going out with, but never as in like wrapping it up in a gift like that. Some of the worthless junk I used to get from my ex mother in law (Mind you we are talking CHEAP ASS HO at christmas!! LMAO!) She would get me those real cheap tools, like a hacksaw, or a hammer, when I would need a use for them? They would break! So i ended up throwing stuff away than giving it away LMAO!!! Thats red! and cheap!! hahahaha!

Yeah, I have a tendency to sell gifts I'm not crazy about, then usually buy something nice. That way I'm not lying out my ass when I say "You got me exactly what I wanted!"

Yes, I have several times. Mostly it would involve something I got at an office Christmas party like a potpourri pot and dried rose petals. I would then take whatever it was to a friend's party for the Chinese auction or save it for a birthday or something.

Nope L4E, you and Bruce aren't the only two. I've done it and and will do it again. If it's something I won't ever use and someone I know will, I'm not too proud to pass it along! Usually though if I actually box and giftwrap it, it's along the lines of family heirloom jewelry or bric a brac. It always makes another family member happy to get it, so they usually don't mind that it's something I already had!
