That's what I'd say to my mother when I'd get mad. I'd go in my room and slam the door..throw my blanket, some stuffed animals and a couple of barbi-dolls into a bag and stomp back out to the front room and anounce again "I'M LEAVING...RIGHT NOW!!" I was ignored...at least. Sometimes she'd glance up and look at me over the top of her glasses and say..."Ok.." So then I'd open the front door..stop and look back...nope she's not even going to try to stop me...walk out and slam the door behind me. (I was into slamming doors back then...). Then I'd stand on the front porch and wait for a minute. Still nothing. I'd yell "I really mean it...I have my blanket and everything!". Still nothing. So I'd go hide in the apple tree. Wrap up in that blanket and sit up in the branches as high as I could climb...man she sure would be sorry when she realizes I'm really gone! After what seemed like hours, (but was really only about 10 minutes) I'd climb down and stand by the window...and yell again..."I'M NEVER COMING BACK!" and go back up into that tree. Then my father would come home and ask why I was up in the tree wrapped in my blanket without a coat on...and tell me that it was really too cold outside to be up there and it was going to be dark soon anyway so why didn't I just come back inside and have some dinner. I'd usually forgotton why I was mad in the first place by then anyway, so I climbed down and walked in with my father...my mom would just look at him and smile...and everything would be good again.
I think I stopped doing that when I was around 6 years old. The apple tree has been cut down...but I still have that blanket!
BTW...this is just my own sick humor coming out...please don't anyone take it personally!

i tried to leave home when i was three, with my little sister, and, because, even then, i wanted to do things right.. i had a packed suitcase. however, it was too heavy to get down my grandmas stairs ( it was christmas day.i dont remember why i was leaving, i blame apple pie and double cream for that) so,like the darleks,i was thwarted by the common staircase ! such is life.

lol, you got lucky. My mom always helped me pack. I think she was trying to tell me something. I now joke about her wanting me to leave so she could rent my room out to a kid that was better behaved than i was. (i was a little hellion)
