 How many of you are going to watch the start of the world series tonight? The Philadelphia Phillies and Tampa Rays are playing. The Phillies won their last world series back in 1980 against the Kansas City Royals. Back in 1983 the Phillies played Baltimore and lost to them. The last world series the Phillies made it to was in 1993 against the Toronto Blue Jays where they lost to the Blue Jays. As for The Tampa Bay Rays, this team was formed in 1998. They have never had a winning season until this year. I'm going to root for the Phillies with the Phillies taking it in 5 games.Who do you think is going to win? Who are you wanting to win? In how many games do you think this will be over with?

I will watch it but not enthused about the two teams as I am neutral towards both. I will rooting for the Phillies though. Could be a lot of homers and runs scored though which will help. Their isn't anything else on tonight of any interest to me. I may keep it on the TV but cyber lounge around here or work on a writing project while listening to the TV, breaking away when anything interesting develops. Other nights I anticipate toggling back and forth between it and football.

I haven't watched a world series since 84, when the Tigers actually made it that far. Got caught up in the hype about a Detroit team other than the Red Wings getting into a championship.

I live near Tampa now and even tho I'm a lifelong YANKEE, I'll be rooting for the Rays to win (and they will). I bet $100 on each game and an extra $500 on the series so when it's over in 6 games I will have won a total of $700. Beers on me when it's over

I didn't make it up, it is true, they broadcasted it including a brief interview with their CEO who is a brit and former cricket player. It is on Tuesday. They did this last year also and during the world series they gave you a coupon in addition good for a free taco with any purchase. This works out for me as Taco Bell is the closest business to my home, about a third of a mile away.

I have no clue who's going to win.
Having said that, I would be leaning toward the Phillies - for probably the stupidest of reasons. Charlie Manuel. He coached the Tribe after Hargrove was cast aside by the stupid owner of the Indians.
I think he needs a ring.
No other reason.
