The sound of the wind raging through the trees and the fear of the unboarded window breaking over my bed forced me to go to the living room in which the windows were boarded up. I fell asleep and woke up to the wind which only let up when the eye of the storm passed over head. Afterwards, there was No TV, No Internet, No air conditioning, No hot water, No cell phones, No land phones for 5 long days. Grilled as much food from the freezer as I could before it went bad. Had a 'block' party and shared what I couldn't eat.... made new friends from neighbors I didn't know, two of which had evacuated from Galveston. All in all, I know 5 days is nothing compared to some whose home washed away with the storm surge and those who haven't heard from their family since. What a ride and I am fortunate to have only sustained a damaged fence. For years of me bitching about the media taking it over board (which they did again with this one), I am glad they overestimated what would happen. It helped soften to blow of what really did happen. 	Glad you made it through safely and even got to do something positvie for others who may have needed that meal...and a kind soul to share it with. We had 70mph winds and trees falling all over the place on houses and cars sitting on the street. I was more than little nervous..I can't imagine going through what you did or worse.... Welcome back...
