Asking for Prayers! posted 9/3/2008 2:41:11 PM | 2 kudos what's this?     report abuse   Ewe_Wish Tomorrow morning I will be getting up at 4am to take my granddaughter L to a specialist in Duluth. She will be put under and there they will guage just how severe the loss of hearing is in both ears. Prior to this it was deemed that in one ear she had a 95% hearing loss and in the other ear she was just barely passable. During this time under, they will be seeing if surgery will be necessary and have her fitted for at least one if not both ears for hearing aids. When she seen the specialist before, he felt that by the time he saw her again to do this surgery (they consider it surgery as they are putting her under.......this is not an invasive surgery where they actually make incisions) that she was probably going to need surgery and still need the aid of at least one hearing aid. Now i realize that for some, this probably isn't such a serious thing (no life and death matter) but for me its very heart wrenching to see my beloved 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter not only have to go thru this procedure but to watch her struggle everyday to hear things most of us take for granted. 	Now i realize that for some, this probably isn't such a serious thing Of course this is something serious gf....you're talking about your granddaughter's hearing and her being "put under"..that alone is something serious. Prayers and thoughts heading your granddaughters way.

	but for me its very heart wrenching to see my beloved 2 1/2 yr old granddaughter not only have to go thru this procedure I would worry about you if this weren't heart wrenching for you.. This is a major thing for L...for you and S. You know when I got my dates mixed up I already started saying prayers....will continue to. Lots of them. When my oldest grand daughter got her tonsils and adnoids removed, I prayed and prayed and cried my eyes out worrying about her and the pain she was going through. Someone told me it was a run of the mill surgery, no big deal...You don't want to know the things I considered doing to them... Our hearts ache for them and we want so badly to be able to take away all that is wrong and protect them... She'll know you are there, Nana....and she'll know that you love her . Lots of prayers and hugs being sent...you know where I'm at if you need to keep yourself occupied during surgery..

	That does have to be hard to watch. For anyone. I think we all need to take a look around and be thankful for what we do have. There are others lacking. I will keep her in my prayers!

	Anytime you have to stand by and see your little ones have to deal with so much it is heart wrenching. I join my prayers with the others. All will be well. (((((HUGS))))))
