Well, I am practically in the very middle of Florida. Schools are closed both tomorrow and the next day. I'm not sure about work yet. I don't think I'll be going. Funny thing about this storm. No one is really taking it seriously. I'm not sure what's going to happen. I'm not scared. I've been here23 years and thru alot of hurricanes. But, what if it's a big one?? What if the majority isn't prepared?? I think most are taking it as a joke and a day off from work. I'm gonna hunker down and be prepared.
To all my Florida natives and friends, be safe.

Yeah, they're saying that it's going to continue heading north through Florida and move it's way toward Ohio with all the rain.

Love you...it is a tropical storm, and not a hurricane! I do wish you well...but I hope we get some rain out of it in the aftermath!

Hay! I'm in Florida,too.
Actually,I'm not scared.I stayed one year in our house all alone during Hurricane Floyd? I remember going all MacGuyver and making a make-shift oven top to cook my ramen. It was awesome.

Go learn about the weather patterns, Bruce. Oh, that's right, you don't watch much tv. If ya did you might actually learn a few things. But then they do say ya can't teach an old dog new tricks...
FYI here, Bruce....Fay is expected to hit Florida and continue moving north through Georgia, the Carolinas, Tennessee, Kentucky, and Ohio as rainfall. I know you drink quite a bit, but I don't touch alcohol...

Sunny and Luna, y'all can come visit if you ever decide not to ride the storm out.
I've been through a few 'canes myself. When I lived near the Carolina coast in the early 70's, one came directly over us. I remember everyone running out of their homes during the eye to cut down trees that threatened to fall on their houses. We didn't have power for several days after, which wasn't much fun. Since we were busy cleaning up and repairing stuff, we didn't think too much about hot food, bathing, etc. We were grateful to be alive.
I was in Charlotte when Hugo hit. I was amazed at the damage that far inland. The roof of my apartment building blew off. During a rain storm the following weekend, water seeped through the roof, causing my ceiling to collapse. My apartment was condemned for two weeks. I had to crash at a friend's place since the apartment management was too cheap to to pay for a hotel. Yet, they didn't cut me any slack on the rent that month, either! Bastards!
Y'all be safe. I hope you make it through OK!
