I am one of those types of people who doesn't give out other peoples phone numbers or email addys without permission from that person. When i do forwards I send the forward to an email addy of mine that I use only for junk mail and very rarely check and do a bbc to everyone in my address book so that others can't get my friends email addys without permission. If someone calls me and asks for someone elses phone number, even if i know they have had it in the past, I still tell them that I need to call that person and ask for permission.
When I first came online I was always hesitant to give out my email addy and messenger ID and my phone number wasn't given to anyone I hadn't gotten to know.......and as the years have went by I have gotten a little less hesitant about doing that because numbers are easier to block now and so is email and messenger. But i still respect the privacy of those who have entrusted me with that information.
How protective are you over your phone, messenger id, and email addy? Do you give other peoples out without permission? How would you feel if someone gave your email addy, phone number, or messenger id to someone without your permission?

I dont really care about my email addy.. Ill give that to most anyone!! I can Block if need be! 
I Normally only give out my Phone numbers to Friends!!!
One or two ppl here I gave it to.. that I kinda wish I had not done so.. cause I really didnt know them that well, at the time!! But they have not called .. so thats cool!! lmfao!
I Dont give out Numbers or Addies from my friends!!!!!
If someone wants a number or addy then I tell them to ask that person, NOT ME!!
and I would like the same in return!!
How would you feel if someone gave your email addy, phone number, or messenger id to someone without your permission?
I wouldnt be a Happy Camper!!! (Unless that person already had my Number/Addy.. at one time, but lost it, and this person knew that!)

I have the same personal policy. I will add that I extend mine to letting people know that I do not want to receive or have my email address as part of mass mailings such as prayer wheels, inspirationals, political essays, jokes, etc.
It has been my experience that people have been overwhelmingly respectful of all of this and I have had virtually nobody violate my trust in these areas.

Where e-mails are concerned, newbies on computers have to be taught to delete all those addresses when forwarding and using bcc's...for a long time I didn't know it. I taught my sister this and occasionally have had to remind her or threaten never to send her anything again. I'm pretty protective of my Outlook address. If I give my address out it's usually one of my secondary addresses like hotmail or whatever that I rarely check unless I'm expecting something there.
I'm very protective of my phone number. After 3 years, too many people had it so I recently had it changed and now very few have it...and I've learned to not make the same mistakes with it again.
I will absolutely NOT give out other peoples information unless I have permission or inform that person that they are trying to be reached and let them take it from there.
Like WoW....those who have my information haven't violated that trust.

I keep two email accounts, one I give only to those I want to have it. The other is for junk, junque, and whatall. Same for the phone numbers. My home phone I give to those whom I want to have it. The cell phone, which is easier to block and monitor, is for the rest.
I didn't used to be that closed, but learned the hard way that I had to be more protective of any personal info, including something as mundane as a messenger ID...

I used to give out my info pretty easily... get stalked one time.. that stops. Now, those who demand an email or IM in the first email? I so don't even bother to talk to them.. so I would say it's pretty important.

I don't really care. I mean, I would appreciate someone asking before they do, but if they didn't ask and all they had was good intention, I won't be mad.

My email addy? I'll give it out to those I consider friends. If sometime up the road that changes...I can always block.
My phone...I'm very stingy with that..Like I said, I rarely give that out.
So..I would say privacy is very important to me.

I find it as very personal. Sure, you could block and delete, but shouldn't have to. If someone asked me for someones addy, phone, etc, I would tell them they need to contact that person themselves.

I had Dayna's 900 number but she cancelled it ...good thing too...my bank account was getting rather low....No ...I would never give anyones information out and I would expect my friends to do the same.

You know RR i agree with you....and thats exactly what happened........tho to be honest i am more disappointed at who gave my email to a nut job.....at least if they were going to give my email addy out they could have given it to some nice sweet man instead of a crazy psycho bitch..................
