The local county fair is coming to this area in a week.
The only good thing out there is the food.
I didn't go last year. Either it is way too hot or it rain's. I might take my daughter out there, she likes to go on rides.
I do like to look at the animals, as this fair is so small there is nothing else to do. The rides are boring for the most part.

I use to go to the MN state fair every year when I lived there.
That one has a lot of good food to pick from. Anything you can imagine.
I remember they had a booth with ice cold milk. All you could drink for .25 cents.
I am sure the price has gone way up by now. That was years ago.
Plus at the state fair there is so much more to see and do you don't have to go near the midway/ride's if you don't want too.

What is your favorite fair food?
Mine of course is corn dogs.

I haven't went to a fair in awhile. The kids just don't like it. I actually miss the spicey sausages and brats. I may force the kids to go this year.

We have pork and chicken BBQ on a stick
Battered Deep Fried Twinkies
Plate of King Crab
Doughbouys - deep fried bread dough
Smoked Turkey Legs
Bruin Burgers - Ground Buffalo meat with a gravy and a slab of cheese wrapped in a bread dough and deep fried.
Churros
Hand Dipped ice cream bars
Funnel Cakes

Once a year at Crab Festival - Memorial Weekend in May we get to pig out on stuff we can't get normally.

Kim and I went to the county fair here last year. She pretty much dragged my ass there to where I hadn't gone since August 1984 when I took Ann (Tash's mom). Too many teeny boppers there these days with still lousy ass music (country music). Why the hell can't they get some people like Joan Jett or Pat Benatar!

Well, hon, comparing a county fair to a state fair, is well, quite unfair. The thing that is cool is that it provides an opportunity for you and your daughter to spend some quality time together. Besides, not to be a jerk, it is not like you live in an area with too many choices on things to do like touring Broadway plays, art exhibits, or major touring musical acts. The glass is half full, not half empty.

Excuse me Straddle but I like country music... No one I want to see out there this year. I did see Rascle Flatt's out there one year and Chris Cagle one year.

Fried cheese curds might be a northern 'thing' but they sure can be yummy. Although it wasn't fair food, recently I was introduced to friend corn nuggets (kind of like globs of thick creamed corn). Oh, that is yummy. You can hear your arteries thickening when you order them.

deep fried cheese curds
ooh, those sound good...No squeak but gooey.. yummy.

And deep fried dill pickles...
alybai42

Jul 28 @ 1:45PM
I have never ate a deep fried pickle or twinkie either. To me those don't belong in a deep fryer.

There should be a lot of country fairs going on..

Who wants to go Fair Hopping just to eat

And who wants to rob a bank to get the money to buy Fair Food..You would think it was made of gold.

Our fair has pop machine's which is nice. It is $1.00 I think for a can. Cheaper than a small cup from a vender.
