We have ridiculed the time-honored values of our forefathers and called it enlightenment. Search us, Oh God, and know our hearts today; cleanse us from every sin and Set us free. Amen!' Commentator Paul Harvey aired this prayer on his radio program, 'The Rest of the Story,' and received a larger response to this program than any other he has ever aired.
With the Lord's help, may this prayer sweep over our nation and wholeheartedly become our desire so that we again can be called 'One nation under God.' If possible, please pass this prayer on to your friends.

Paul Harvey's show is still on the radio. He doesn't do the news anymore on his show. The guy who reads the news now is Ron Chapman, a Dallas icon who was a top 40 deejay here for decades that retired a few years ago. "The rest of the story" is now often old recordings that Harvey had done over the years that are always interesting.
Paul Harvey will be 90 YO September. Harvey has been off the air since February due to pneumonia and returned to voicing commercials and new episodes of The Rest of the Story on April 28, 2008 (he took more time off after the death of his wife but returned May 19); a full-time return to News and Comment has not yet been announced.
Former Senator Fred Thompson, known for his work on NBC's Law and Order, substituted for Harvey regularly from 2006 to 2007, prior to his unsuccessful run for President. Thompson left the network to run and has not returned. Other substitutes for Harvey have included his son Paul Harvey Jr., Doug Limerick, Paul W. Smith, Gil Gross, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, and the late Tony Snow.

I don't care who said it. It rings true and makes me wonder about our nation. I pray for the USA everyday and at 9:00 pm EDT, I pray with other people across the nation that Godly people will be elected in November.

WOW, let me assure you I have personally never heard Paul Harvey make this prayer on the air nor anyplace else.. I was sharing what a friend of mine shared with me. I totally agree with the message regardless of the orgination. My apology, I should have "Snooped" it just to authenticate the origin. You contradiction is noted, however.
