So for those of you who have been wondering, and haven't been in touch with us...
Canu's son is home from the hospital. He's actually been home for over two weeks, and is doing well. I took him back for a follow-up today, his plastic surgeon walked into the exam room and said "You look great!"...then looked at me and said "Stop turning the screws!" Apparently this thing is working a little too well...or at least a little faster than he'd anticipated. So, we're going to let the bones heal for about three more weeks, then go back and have the lower part of the device removed. That's a good thing since that's the part connected to his upper jaw through his upper palate. Yea...it goes right through his mouth! Makes eating a chore...and this kid is skinny enough! But all in all, he's doing well and on the mend.
On to other things...
We also had to put down our old dog Cory. He was 16 years old and had cancer which had eventually spread to his eyes and brain. That was a week ago...and I missed him terribly! So Canu and I got up early last Saturday and headed to Greensboro, to check out the animal shelter...turns out they were having a special on adoption fees! Half off!! We ended up with two dogs...but ya know, Cory was worth two dogs easily!
So now we have Bonnie and Clyde. Bonnie is a boxer/shepard mix, about 30 lbs and has just a bit of spunk in her. She's not as hyper and playful as our puppy was...but she's fun and very loveable.
Clyde is a Coonhound mix, and very much a typical hound dog! He loves to lay around on the couch, all stretched out, or all curled up...it don't matter. Sometimes we'll find him on our bed...sometimes on the kids' bed...but rarely on the floor. He usually has this "Wait...what?" look on his face. Bonnie on the other hand is usually like "whatarewedoingwherearewegoingarewegoingtoPLAY!!!" But she settles down when she's told to and she listens very well.
So...that's life these days here at the 616. How's things in your neck of the woods?
Oh yea...I got laid too...
