Just kidding about the Dangerous part They are actually Lovely, Intelligent and insightfull Ladies But they as well as many others here do post blogs that make you think, They ask questions that open your mind and jog your memory, They make you look inside your selves & wonder what happened to the world we loved so much.
Things they have made me wonder lately are:
1- What happened to the days when a womans personality, charm and the way she made your palms sweat, your breath catch and your heart glow with warmth simply by smiling your way or saying your name was what made her beautiful. Why do we now use how fast she gives a hard on as a basis for a desirable woman?
2- What happened to the days when walking through school with a gun over your shoulder meant your next class was machine or wood shop?
3- What happened to the days when in the middle of class the teacher would say "crap, someone loan me a sharp knife." & everyone in the room including the girls would hold one up?
4-What happened to the days when a school fight was 2 guys going fist & skull after class & 3 years later they are best man at each others weddings?
5- What happened to the days when the spotlights came on iluminating 3 boys prowling around in a little old lady's yard at 3am in the morning & the officer would hang out the window & ask " you boys still ain't found ole Mrs. Durhams cat yet" & the old lady would holler from the porch" get off your fat butt & help em look and I will make you some coffee?
6- What happened to the days when if you were bigger than your momma the neghborhood cop would stop by, loan her his belt & make sure you stood still while she busted a little sense into your young, dumb ass?
7- What happened to the days when the world went wrong & without asking neighbors, friends & family were there to help make it right again & when their world went wrong you were there to help put things right. Not because anyone got anything out of it but because it was the right thing to do?
I gotta quit thinking, Yall are giving me a headache

Excellent questions and blog...... When you find that world again, let me know...Okay?
7- What happened to the days when the world went wrong & without asking neighbors, friends & family were there to help make it right again & when their world went wrong you were there to help put things right. Not because anyone got anything out of it but because it was the right thing to do? Luckily, I still live in one of those rare neighborhoods and have those great friends...Even in this day and age.....

I think the transience of the country's people, moving away from family helped this to happen as well as television and video games and the not knowing who your neighbor is as well as day care, I would say work but women have always worked and usually a family member stepped in to take care of the kids be it great/grandma/pa or some spinster aunt/uncle or extended family took care of the children, disposable everything from drinking cups to clothing, and I blame fear mongering from our government..

What happened to it being safe to let your kids outside and play??
Our parents didn't pay for extra curricular activities for us as kids....we went out an d played safely.
Now, we can't send our kids out to play, it's not safe. So we pay for hockey and soccer practice so they can still play.
It's not right.

I like the insight of what has happened when communities extend so far beyond their boundaries that the "community" is lost. We have simply grown so large that the niche feelings of belonging have vanished.
Now...can I please go back to being dangerous

Damn, I saw the title and thought I was in trouble...again! You can't imagine the relief when I clicked and read on...
I was recently reminiscing about how playing Ding-dong-ditch was about the most mischief we got into...and it wasn't hard to figure out which kids were doing it since we all were restricted to playing on our block...No harm, no foul...it was a just good clean fun. Now, if you hear a doorbell and don't see anyone outside, you're best to not open the door and keep your hand on the phone...
Thanks for the post!

What happened to it being safe to let your kids outside and play?? Those days are the ones I miss the most. Mom used to toss us out of the house after breakfast to play & tell us to be back for supper. The neghbors all kept an eye on what mischief we were all getting into & many of them would take the time to teach us neat skills when we wanted to watch what they were doing.
I learned a lot from retired old guys who enjoyed having company & being able to pass on what they had learned. By the time I was 12 I could fix a lamp, build my own radios, whittle flutes & hooey sticks and I learned it all from neghbors.
Now if one of the neghbors kids is pushing there bike in front of your house & the chain is off offering to fix it so they can ride it again instantly makes you a pervert or something.
I feel sorry for the kids. They are missing out on so much.

Someone once said " I think therefore I am" Well today " I think not therefore I am not"
