I don't like labels,but if I had to use an example,Queen Latifah would be it.Some would say Monique also,but she's kinda obnoxious and she gives bigger women a bad name.
BBW is a pretty broad term.I've seen some not so attractive women who are like 400+ lbs use the phrase BBW,but I figure if their confident about who they are, who are we to tell them they're wrong?

Being BBW and being beautiful are in the eye of the beholder. I see some profiles and they say BBW but they post 3 or more pictures and their is no way they are BBW - just beautiful and women. I see others that say average and they are 60 lbs plus overweight.

I am often likened to Queen Latifah - not that we look alike (though there was a time when she was on Living Single that we wore our hair exactly alike and could have passed for sisters.) I see her and I say, "Now THERE is a big, beautiful woman if I ever saw one!", and if anyone sees us in the same light at all, I am truly honored...

I've had to shop in the Women's section for many years now...I've always been on the heavier side...even when I was younger and in school...just come to realize that I will never be a size 4 ...think the only time I was a size 4 is when I was 4 years old LMAO.
Beauty is in the eye of the beholder too...some men think the bigger the better, I've talked to some men who wanted to know if I would eat more to gain more weight...but to me you have to be healthy too...to much weight just isnt good for one's body. Me? I'm healthy as a horse....just built like one!! bwhahahahah
I haven't been sick in like 5 years...my sister on the other hand who is a size 4 is sick all the time........things that make you go hmmmmmmmmmmmm.
Just enjoy who you are and be thankful that you're healthy and the way you are...that's the way I look at it :)

A woman who has confidence in herself, knows who she is, & isn't built like a supermodel to me is a BBW...I think society has really embraced larger woman & I am glad because it's not how you look but how you treat people is what gives you that inner beauty.

Wordsofwit I want to thank you for making one of the truest statements ever made in the history of mankind.
I absolutly HATE the term BBW. A better term would be "Real Women" Women who have in most cases raised a family, been a hardworking wife & mother and spent their lives being a better person, friend and lover because they focus on reality & happiness rather than spend their lives trying to turn themselves into someone they are not & never were meant to be.
Give me a Real Woman to live, love and enjoy life with any day instead of some usless piece of arm candy who is so wrapped up building a fake person and personality that she can't even remember what the truth is or who she realy is anymore..
