What's your favorite top song(s) of the 80's that you feel was underated at the time that was or wasn't given their just due? As for me, not only do I have one, but I have three to list. All three were given their just due back in the 80's. They are...
1. Love is a Battlefield (Pat Benatar) 1983
2. Take On Me (A-Ha) 1985
3. Crazy for You (Madonna) 1985
Those above are my three best of the 80's.
What is your song(s)? You can pick one, but three's the limit!

obsession..... That's a very good one from 1985. Great beat to it. Also, the chick in that video is pretty hot!
19.... That was also done in 1985. I first saw it on MTV. I believe it was underated.

The eighties was rather barren, but in no particular order these come to mind :
On the Turning Away - Pink Floyd Changes - Yes Rock Me _ Great White

I'm with Bruce on "Changes" by Yes. That's a badass tune.
"Say What You Will" by Fastway ( I know you know that one PP)
"Fade to Black" off Ride the Lightning.
That would be Metallica, third album if you count their "No Life Till Leather" demo.
Truth is.......I love music so much, I could name enough songs from one year from the '80s to make your blog a couple of miles long, so good idea with the limit.

ok not so into 80's music but here are a couple I remember When Doves Cry.. Prince Hell is for Children.. Pat Benatar Counting Crows.. She talks to Angels, the web says 1990 but I swear I heard it before this in Tampa Florida because it reminded me of myself when I used to think that I was an orphan and I hated for anyone to meet my family LOL but since that is 1990 My final selection would be THe Rose by Bette Midler

Seriously, I read this a few hours ago and I simply cannot pick just 3 - I don't think I could narrow it down to 5, even. That was the golden age of MTV, and it also seemed to be the era of one-hit-wonders...music seemed to be exploding everywhere! I need you to narrow it down for me, dear...top Rock-n-Roll, top pop, top dance...gimme a category - not a decade, holy cow...my mind can't handle THAT much thought!

I agree with rnj, how about 3 every hour...Way too many too chose just 3. So I'll slightly cheat and say, just about anything, AC/DC Pink Floyd or Bon Jovi
And now I have Video Killed The Radio Star going through my head, over and over....someone make it stop!!
Has it been an hour yet... 3 actual songs I really like, in no particular order... Guns and Roses ~ Patience Billy Idol ~ White Wedding Queen ~ Another One Bites The Dust
