I was born in Iowa and now live in Tenn, but as a child we went to Lacrosse, Wisconsin often. We always came home with a fresh package of cheese curd...and they do squeak when they are fresh...thanks for reminding me of a childhood pleasure!

Here we're known as the Land of Lincoln. ( I don't think you can eat that). But... ...we have some good eats in Chicago. PIZZA, deep dish or thin it's all good. I don't think ya can get a better hot dog either, Chicago style!

Yes RR, being a cheesehead, people don't believe me when i say good fresh curds squeak
Course here in MN we are known for Walleye, hand harvested Wild Rice and we also have a couple of lakes. Everyone says 10,000 but it is really over 11,000. Guess 10 was easier to say, dontch know.

If you travelled through california, you'd think it would be known for its olives. But aparently, we have some good wines made here. However, when someone orders something "californian", it usually means there is avocado on it. Go figure.

Here in NYS bordering Lake Ontario and in and around the Finger Lakes, we are known for the quality of two things...Fruit (apples and cherries) and grapes for wine. There are literally hundreds of wineries within an hour's drive from here, many of them supurb (gold medal winners, etc.)
