I just saw all over the news that NBC newsman Tim Russert has died. I'm not sure how, but I suspect it was a heart attack. Even though he was a hard core liberal, you hate to see this happen to him and anyone else. He was very good at his job, and his big shoes will be hard to fill over at NBC. He was only 58. My prayers and thoughts go out to his family.

I didn't always agree with him but he was good as Straddle said. My thought and prayers are with his family. Did he out live his dad "Big Russ"?

I heard about it when I got home from work. It's sad. My thoughts and prayers are with his family.

I am totally bummed and I nearly cried when I heard the news on my drive home from work today. I know Tim was a liberal (but aren't all NBC newspeople?) and that I'm not, but there was just something about him that I really enjoyed. His integrity, honesty, and bulldog tenacity made him one of the best in the business. Somehow, my Sunday mornings just won't be complete anymore without Tim hosting Meet the Press.

I understand that his heart attack came while he was at work at NBC's Washington bureau. Also, that he had just attended his his son's graduation from Boston College, followed by a family vacation trip to Italy, from which he had just returned. In light of his death, the memories of the recent time together must be a comfort to the family.

And, the saddest part of this story may be that his untimely death happened at the beginning of Father's Day weekend. The Russert family has unexpectedly lost a father. We all ought to take time out to appreciate our own fathers this weekend since you never know how much longer they may have to enjoy your sentiments.

I totally agree!
