I have some pretty good news about little Alex. I finally got a hold of my daughter and just hung up with her after being on the phone with her for roughly 35 minutes. She told me that Alex will be coming home tomorrow (Wednesday...June 11). He continues to breathe on his own and he does move his arm and hands from time to time whenever he hears his mom's voice. His eyes stays open at times (they have to put some eye drops in his eyes every so often since he doesn't blink), and he can close his eyes as well. They will provide around the clock care for Alex at Tash's aunt's house (where Tash will be staying with Alex). She said that her and her aunt Patty has now been trained to care for him, and that it's not going to be that hard like they first thought.
Now, moving on to Willie. She told me that child welfare will be charging him with child abuse, and that Ross county Sheriffs Dept. are going to chagre him with 16 counts of felonious assult charges (one for every broken bone which is 15 altogether, and the 16th one for his head injury. He will be looking at 10 years in prison. Tash told me that he will be spending time behind bars. I have always thought that Willie was a good kid, but Tash went on to tell me that he has "knocked up" is ex gf (who he has another baby with prior to Tash), and that it really surprised her (Tash) that he could move on that fast. I really can't understand Willie, and it also tells me that he not only cares, but I don't think he fully understands the seriousness to what he has done to Alex. I can actually see that. some of you wanted to know about what's going to happen to Willie, and that's what Tash told me tonight.
Anyway, the doctors feel like Alex won't ever wake up, but Tash feels that since he has fought this long and hard, that she has faith to believe he will wake up. I told her to continue having faith, and that she has a lot of people praying for little Alex.

I'm so glad he is going home with his momma.
I had no idea he had that many broken bones, I hope they send that monster to jail for a long time, & that he will be "dealt with", by his fellow-inmates, so that is some justice!!
My prayers still go out to all of you, Shawn!!!
Thanks so much for the update!!

I forgot to mention that Tash finally got a cell phone yesterday, so it shouldn't be a hassle now in getting a hold of her. Her aunt Patty also has a long distance package, so even better.

I am sure Willie is going to meet street justice in prison over and above whatever the legal justice systems dishes out to him. The inmates have ways of finding out about child abusers and they don't like them.
I am so glad that Alex is coming home and time will tell Shawn. Keep the faith that he will keep recovering. The human body is capable of miracles and he also has a lot of love on his side. I am happy for Tash that she will be free of Willie so she can find better things in her future as well.
Big Hugs to all of you!!
Cheers Judi

I am so sorry that your family has had to go through this,I think that 10 years is way to short of a prison term for this crime. There is nothing lower than someone who does that to a child.

So good to hear that update on baby Alex, Shawn. I'm a prison RN and I will promise you that Willie WILL be taken care of in the same fashion that he took care of baby Alex when they find out what he did in prison. The hierarchy inside is fair and they hate child abusers. You have so many good people praying for Alex and Tasha. I hope that it works and once she gets him home maybe things will improve some.

That's wonderful news that Alex is going home!!! Yes, Tash should keep the faith that Alex will someday wake up.....he has a lot of people out here praying for him. As for Willie....I know in this country we are innocent until proven guilty....and if he is indeed found guilty....my personal feeling is he should never be released from prison.

That's great news on Alex Shawn! Y'all are still in my thoughts and prayers even if I don't "hang" around here much anymore! Sadly ten year is not enough time for Willie to serve, here he would be charged with class A felonies which would mean upon conviction he would be serving 10-15 or life. Hopefully there he will be sentenced to general population with other inmates, sadly here most guilty of child abuse/ neglect/ or molestation are sentenced to one particular institution in which 97 percent of the population is there for those same types of crimes. Therefore they don't usually obstract that "justice" that many believe will happen as they see nothing wrong with what he did. Just another tiny flaw in the justice system. Hang in there and have hope, he's still in my prayers.
