I'm driving across the country.... falling asleep... so I decided to stop and play on the computer for a little bit. I just wanted to mention though to everyone on this site from Texas.... I HATE Ft Worth..... My trip has been fine... I hit ft worth.. well I pass ft worth and hit a lightning storm that scared the beejeebees out of me. I kept looking for tornadoes every time a streak would light up the entire sky,. I kept praying to god "please don't let me die in texas. Anywhere but here" lol. Now, I'm like in childress... some 6 hours or so later cause I can't stay awake. It happens everytime I come through texas... It takes forever. I get put in some trans from the lines on the road... I don't know. Anyway, I think I'm awake now. I'll hit the road again!!!!!!

Ah Luv Foat Wurth. It's the traffic I could do without. Yes, some of the storms can get your attention. Look at the bright side, you've not been in a Texas Hail Storm. The DFW area has lots of offer, from a still good econonmy, great shopping, jobs for whomever wants to work, and lots of cultural events. Next time, take a look around and enjoy

While Texas is not on my list of places I ever want to live it does have a rich and diverse history. The few months I spent there were filled with strangers who treated you like a long lost friend and places to visit that were like stepping back in time. And don't forget the food. I think people in Texas are born knowing how to cook
The times I have had to drive through Texas to get elsewhere does make me wonder one little thing.....Can't these people make one damn road that goes straight through the whole state??

I guess it is to big to go around. I worked in Dallas as a paramedic for a few years...forunately I got shot on a call and came to my senses and went home. That is all I can say about Texas...true

even if they did have one road going east and west, t would take you all day to go thru it. years ago i lived west of ft. worth, and drove from there to san diego many times. the longest stretch was from there to el paso. don't know why, but that seemed to take longer than it did to get on into san diego.
but try driving a truck thru dallas during rush hour. no fun at all. texas is a great place to be from, now far from. i like missouri a whole lot more.

I spent some time in San Antanio and El Paso and enjoyed both. SA has terrible humidity but I enjoyed the river walk and the folks were "Down Home." El Paso has probably the best C/W nightclub in the US. I enjoyed my visits there. Texas folks are great when one get's past the bragging. lol

Ah!!! Texas!! Just seeing the word makes me homesick! Dallas is home to me, born and raised, but I'm with ya, I HATE driving in Ft. Worth!!! and girl let me tell ya there is nothing in Childress I ever left behind to go back for!! Don't blink too much going through or you've missed it entirely anyway! I also highly suggest NEVER going there on a bike, folks out in Vernon, Childress, Pumpkin Center, that area, are VERY unfriendly to bikers! Have a safe trip to wherever you're goin!
