A couple of things I learned the other day about installing a built in dishwasher.

1. Make sure you have all the right tools. Short screw driver, pliers, wrench.
2. Make sure you have a LOT of patience.
3. Shut off the circuit breaker to the old dishwasher before unhooking it
4. Make sure you shut off the hot water valve
5. Did I mention patience?
6. Have LOTS of big and thick towels...believe me...you will need em if you're unhooking an old dishwasher.
7. If you have pets...put them in the other room or outside. They want to help..but a cold nose on your neck is quite surprising, and it kinda hurts the head if you jump and smack under the counter.
8. Turn off the ringer on the phone...damn thing can stay quiet all day...but just start working on something..and the stupid thing rings nonstop!
9. Make sure to have a dishwasher installation kit. Or at least the right sized hose.
10. By the way..don't forget....PATIENCE!

*note* Make double damn sure the hot water valve is OFF before unhooking the old dishwasher! I kinda forgot...and when my Dad unhooked the old one...my kitchen got a "little" flooded.

Just a couple of things I learned the other day when I went out and bought a new built in dishwasher to replace the old one that quit running. I'm so happy my Dad helped out with the installation. Now...I just gotta convince my dog, Buddy, he needs to eventually stop barking when Dad is over. But, my new dishwasher if up and running. No more doing dishes by hand!

It sounds like you didn't get a manual with your new dish washer. The manual covers all that stuff. Should have taken an hour and a half max. Row, row, row your boat...

Could be worse. You could have a "plumbers crack" and have that nose brush up against it and have all that happen afterwards.

Just think of how much time you'll save only having to pre-rinse/wash the dishes to go in the dishwasher instead of having to just wash all the dishes in the first place. LOL! Just giving you guff. Congrats on accomplishing that task. I'm sure going through the effort of installation will make you appreciate it even more.

Funny....it only took me 2 seconds to install mine......just had to follow these simple directions:

1)...ME:...Does this price include installation?

2)...SALESPERSON:...Yes Sir, it does...

3)...ME:...OK, I'll see you Thursday.
