More on little Alex! posted 5/17/2008 7:39:14 PM | 1 kudo what's this?     report abuse tagged: daughter, health, straddle   StraddleMyNose Just got off the phone with my daughter and she said that the doctor had checked Alex's pupils with the flashlight and determined that Alex is blind since his pupils didn't respond to the light. She also told me that an eeg was done 3-4 days ago and it did show more brain activity which is good. But the doctor doesn't feel like Alex will wake up out of it. Tash isn't going to give up the faith, and I can't blame her. This is about all I have right now. Btw, Angie, I did tell her about the gift that you're going to send her. 	I also forgot to mention that he is a 4 now on the breathing machine which is pretty good and will be off it in the next day or two.

	I'm sorry the news wasn't all good but at least some of it is good news. Hopefully things will continue to improve and all will be right when it's said and done. Best wishes to you and your family Shawn. Richie

	I'm sorry to hear that, Shawn. I wish that wasn't true. I cannot fathom being blind and never having to be able to see the faces of those so precious to me, let alone the world. There was a blind man who once argued with me that he would much rather hear than see and I suppose he was right in that, both are equally essential. It's painful to know that Alex will never see or search Tash's face again. We need hope, we need faith, we need to believe in miracles, and continue our prayers.

	Ah Shawn I'm sorry to hear about little Alex, I can't imagine how difficult this must be for Tash and you!! Heartbreaking, but remember miracles do work and I know Alex sure deserves ONE OF MANY!! Take care and you're all in my prayers and thoughts!!
