It Makes A Mother Proud posted 5/15/2008 10:07:01 AM | 2 kudos what's this?     report abuse   Ewe_Wish Most of you know that my son is in the Army.....he is so army that I think if you looked he probably pees green.......... so you can imagine he has that strict military hair cut......he does the yes ma'am and no sir and is very polite even when he doesn't really want to. To me he is normal for him ...........his fiance' well she is kinda like him to the point..........nothing weird.........she doesn't wear much makeup...........she enjoys the things he enjoys i.e. hunting and fishing and she is a college student.........both are people you would be proud to know and would like well. Than there is my daughter.........don't get me wrong I love her dearly but dammit........her and her friends scare me.........as I am moving back to Minnesota soon and I will be staying with her until I find an apartment I like...........this concerns me deeply although she is going to the trouble of rearranging her own home to make me feel more comfortable and give me some space i have to say there are some things that will take getting use to.She moved her computer to the kitchen table so that it wouldn't be in my road (and to be honest I doubt there has ever been a meal eaten off it anyways........ ). So the other night I walked into the kitchen to get a cup of coffee, I didn't bother turning the lights on as the computer monitor was lighting it enough to see when I turned around and looked at the monitor i almost dropped my coffee when I screamed OMG WTF is that? My daughter says what is what? I said what the hell is that freak thing on your desktop..........my daughter gets this cooing noise and says Oh that is Chris.......isn't he adorable? Adorable would not be the word that I used to described this boy....he has more metal in his face than my camaro bumper to bumper has.........and he has makeup on..........yes dark makeup around his eyes........Now I am sure it is my daughters dream to some day share her life with this young man.........but I wonder how prepared she is to share her eye liner and mascara with him....... .I thought the Goth look, which i never appreciated, had went out........but in rural northern Minnesota it has become the rage again. My daughter thinks I am old fashion and perhaps shes right to some extent.......but she should give me more credit I never said a word when she had her ears pierced 9 times.........or when she had her eyebrow pierced........or her lip.........or her nose........or her tongue..........but the other day when she went to have her hair done.........and came home with her natural red hair dyed a horrible black with blue, purple, blond streaks in it......I thought she was jjust being her....but then she had it cut and spiked in the back and I just don't see paying good money to look like you have bed head.................she thinks I am uncool.........i think shes insane......... The other day GreatSax wrote a blog about dating someone so much younger than you were..........and I was thinking dating hell.........I don't even have anything in common with someone that much younger......... 	First my oldest (16) wanted an earring. Okay, so it's not that big of a deal anymore, but I'm old shcool. Then he starts sagging. It looks stupid as hell, but I let him express himself. His little brother (13) just has to copy him. To be truthful, they look like thugs. It's what's in their hearts that counts. As long as they continue to be gentlemen in public and don't embarass me too bad, then all is good. I guess what I'm trying to say is that it isn't about what they look like it's how they act. Do you walk down the middle of the mall with your daughter? I just had to ask.

	Ewe it's always something with kids. When my girls were teens it was the short shorts that showed their bunns...literally. The tube tops..everything tight and skimpy as hell...and the wars I had with my oldest daughter were numerous as she was built like a brick shithouse with every brick in place! Now...she has piercings....ears, tongue, eyebrow...and gaud I DON'T want to know where else so I don't ask. My youngest at least waited until she was out of the house and on her own...now she has tattoos...way too many! But I have to tell this story that PP reminded me of... Do you walk down the middle of the mall with your daughter? My oldest daughter always had a warped sense of humor...and allergies. I took them to the mall when she was probably 13 or 14 and she had one of her sneezing fits so I handed her a kleenex and kept walking. I turned around to see if they were coming only to see her nonchalantly walking behind me with that kleenex stuffed in one nose hole and hanging there like a pompom and her eyes were twinkling in glee at embarrassing mom....GEEZ! Malls with kids can be hazardous to ur nerves...

	Its great having kids is;nt it. When mine were growing up, It was well knowen that anyone came in the door with ink or metal (ear rings ok for my daughter) My foot was in the rear as they went out the door.
