A picture of an overweight woman lying naked on a couch, painted by the British artist Lucian Freud, is expected to set a record for any work by a living artist when it goes up for auction Tuesday night. Christie's auction house in New York expects the life-size 1995 portrait to sell for between $25 million and $35 million.

The painting is life sized so I'm guessing it is 4' X 7' or something. It is a very interesting article and if you click on little red arrow below the picture of the painting, it shows what the woman looks like today at the age of 51. She is not unattractive actually. But I do wonder what her family, friends, and coworkers are going to think about this. Hopefully that artists gives her a bit of a bonus considering the selling price. Even if he does, it could be a Southwest Airlines moment...want to get away?

Seriously the painting is awesome but we here are use to working for our dollars and just cant' understand paying that kind of money. Would I buy it at a reasonalbe price?? I don't know put a man up there and lets see what happens. Fat, skinny, average, everyone is different which is why tastes run differently.
