It's been a month now that I've been able to attend dancing lessons. Not just any dancing lessons, but big band swing  Being quite good with a hacky sack I figured that dancing ought to be a breeze but it has taken some practice. For some, dancing is about expression. For others it's about movement and freedom. For me, I'm amazed at the mass amounts of non-verbal communication between the partners as they weave themselves in and out of something that is totally spontaneous despite it's practiced maneuvers. I am amazed. It is that amazement that prompted me to choose to dance. I cannot sit on the sidelines and watch like so many of my peers. I think it's a show of character to step out and attempt. I'm not good... yet... but at least I'm not bored. How many of you have conquered your fears and done something bold and exciting? Are you one who leads the way or follows the pack?

Swing dancing... Hmm sounds like a pretty bold move. I don't think I've ever made as bold a step as to take up something like swing dancing, but I do just pick up and go, never looking back; I think that's pretty bold,that's how I made it to california( what a mistake ) . I'm about to do it again,but any how good luck with the swing dancing:)

I wanted to take dancing lessons.....but no one wanted to go as my partner. It's hard talkin' a guy into going to learn how to dance.....

I have danced since I was 2...Love it...will always love it...and good for you. You will get better, and the confidence it gives you will spill over into the other parts of your life!
