 Who is the better lead singer for the rock band Van Halan, David Lee Roth or Sammy Hagar? Tom (OMG71) and I have such a strong disagreement about this, as he likes Sammy Hagar. I'm a David Lee Roth fan and think he's a much better performer and lead singer for Van Halen. Which is the best in your opinion?

Well they both did good for Van Halen. David Lee Roth's voice is good for the songs he sang as is Sammy Hagar for his. But Sammy Hagar is far the better singer .

Barak Obama...no...just kidding..welcome back Shawn..David Lee Roth although I love Hagar....we backed him last year in Vegas...he is great. My favorite Hagar is "Baby I'm a BAAAAAAAAAAAAAAD Man......David Lee Roth...Panama....too many to really pick one for Van Halen...one of my all time favorites. Good blog...lets get to the pubic hair stuff pretty soon...by the way Shawn, I saw my dumb ass party is going to pick on McCain and his age. Cindy is hot though and he doesn't look bad. Hagar was good with Montross and when he was solo. I thought he sucked after he got on with Van Halen.

Sorry, but I have to go with Sammy. When I saw them in Atlanta in 1995 on the Balance Tour, I was thoroughly pleased.
David Lee Roth has always been a little too flashy for my taste.

I personnally like them both. As to who is the better singer .. easy .. just compare there solo careers ... No one would even know who David is without Van Halen , but we all know who Sammy is .. I think Eddie said it best ... when David left to do a solo album , a reporter asked Eddie , are you going to do a solo album too? ,,, Eddie simply stated "I am Van Halen "

I like Sammy as a solo artist, like his tequila, but when it comes to fronting Van Halen, it's David all the way! When it was Van Hagar it didn't even sound like Van Halen anymore, everything sounded like one long Hagar song. I truly missed that previous sound that Van Halen made famous! Besides can you imagine Sammy Hagar in white leather pants with the ass cheeks cut out? Me neither!
