I have a little time right now to update all of you on little Alex. I talked with my daughter ealier today and she told me that the doctors believe that Alex is doing better and a threat of his passing is no longer there as before. But there is a chance he can develop pneumonia and/or infection since he currently has a trach. Things are looking better right now, and I continue having hope and having faith that Alex will heal. Tash also told me that it's unlikely that Alex will ever be normal from the injuries substained from all of this. He did after all lose a little bit of oxygen at one time, but I'm really hoping that it's not that severe. The injuries he did substained were as if he was thrown from a two story buliding the doctors had told my daughter a few days ago. They are trying to tapper him off the breathing machine as of today. I do want to thank all of you for the prayers that were sent our way, as they seem to be helping. I'm a big believer in prayer, and prayers do work miracles.
On another note: Nomi and I talked yesterday after what she blogged, and she apoligized for it. I didn't agree with it only because it wasn't the time for something like that with the grieving we are all doing right now. There is still a lot going on and Alex is not out of the woods yet. She totally understood and deleted the blog herself. I did appreciate that jesture on her part. Nomi and I are still friends and we both have a great deal of respect for each other.
Again, thanks goes out to all of you for the prayers, and please keep praying that Alex will come out of this as normal as possible. Shawn

My prayers and that of my families havent stopped for a minute!! Little Alex will have a long road ahead as will all of you. As stated before I am here for any support you may need and unfortunately my family has the experience of this happening so let us know. Luvs ya all!!

Okay, I just got off the phone with Ann (my ex, Tash's mom), and Tash wasn't in the room right now. I did have a chance to talk with Ann and I asked her a few questions about Alex since I picked up on her emotions. Ann seems to think that Tash is in denial about Alex's health and his road to recovery. She broke down crying a little while on the phone with me. She did let her gaurd down and shared her emotions with me. She doesn't want me to tell Tash that she doesn't think it looks good as far as the brain activity goes. I told her that I wouldn't. Ann is blaming herself because she said that she should have picked up on what was wrong with little Alex since they were at her house all weekend. I told her that she shouldn't beat herself up like that and she wasn't to blame. That there was no way of her really knowing any of this since he looked and sounded healthy at that time. All we can do is continue praying and hope for the best in this.

I just talked with Vicki who is Tash's aunt and she's also up there, and she had to be careful on what she said to me over the phone since Tash is also in the room. She told me what Ann pretty much did earlier. There's not a whole lot of change in Alex's status as Tash wants to believe. Either way, Alex is in for a hard life if he pulls through this. The MRI scan couldn't pick up on anything because his brain is still a little swollen and they're waiting on the swelling to go down before attempting another scan on his brain. I apologize when I jump the gun with Tash's information on here. I will hold off on anymore till the info are true facts from Ann and Vicki. Like I stated earlier, they are trying to wing him off the breathing machine. This process is going to take some time, along with any new info on this. I'm not expecting any change anytime soon on his condition. I will blog an update when it warrants one. Shawn

Shawn is there any way that Ann can speak to Alex's doctors and let them know who you are and that you have permission to call them directly to inquire on the status? I know I would feel much more secure receiving any straight up progress reports from the medical experts. We'll keep praying.

I am with you my friend and glad there is a little improvement. We just have to keep staying positive and one thing for certain...we are remarkably resilient in our bodies and spirit. If the doctors were always right there would not be miracles...and there are miracles.  ..we will keep believing and praying....
