I talked briefly with my daughter this morning and she said that nothing has changed on my grandson's status. An MRI scan will be ran along with a few other tests around 6pm today. Late afternoon yesterday however I did learn a little more things along the way. As I was talking with Tash my grandson was on his back as he breeched upward with his belly button up in the air somewhat. The nurse stated that wasn't good because that could be a sign of a brain injury. Later on I had also learned that Alex had some broken ribs and a broken collar bone, and has shaken baby syndrome. But this could have been as a result of Willie giving CPR to him. A social worker was up there that afternoon, and they expect a deputy to arrive today for further questions. This is a formality of course, given an investigation of injury to a baby. My daughter wasn't there that afternoon when Alex stopped breathing. Willie was watching the baby and his cousin was over there along with two of her smaller kids as well. I'm not sure what happened at that time, and I'm not blaming anyone right now. Of course Willie is a wreck. I talked with him over the phone yesterday as well and he kept telling me that the nurses seemed to think he's guilty of abuse by the way they're acting around him. Willie does have a history of violent behavior torwards his parents as law enforcement officers had to be called a few times last year. So I am not sure what this investigataion will show after it's been conducted. From what I have seen both Tash and Willie showed so much love for that baby when they were here, and I can't see either one of them harming Alex in any way.
I want to thank Bruce for keeping everyone updated for me on here in these difficult times. I would also like to thank everyone that has posted comments on Bruce's blog leaving thoughts and prayers. This is very much appreciated. Shawn

I talked to Nomi last night and she said to tell you she's praying for little Alex too.
I'm still praying and will keep doing so til the little guy is on the mend. My heart goes out to you, your grandson and your daughter.

This is a scary and heartbreaking time for all of you. My granddaughter who is now 16, the first year of her life was fraught with one crisis after another and we weren't sure she'd ever see her first birthday.
It's a time when family holds onto one another and knows their friends are praying for all of them...we all are. Love to you all.
