2 kudosgive kudos what's this?

Today was my last day in the army. Think about it. Today, I no longer have to worry about a bomb blowing up my car. I can smoke illegal items if I so choose. I no longer have to worry about my boss coming to my house to see how I'm living. I can grow a beard. I can speak my mind

I can be who I want to be.

How many years of inactive reserve do you have left?

May 4 @ 6:34AM
thank you for protecting me and mine.........

Awesome hon. I felt that way when I got divorced from the military. I hated the way they turned up every 6 months for "fire inspection". To me it was an invasion of my privacy.

I appreciate what you've done for our country. I don't always agree with what the Pentagon does, but that has nothing to do with you guys, and I truly admire, respect and appreciate beyond words how you put your life in harm's way so I can eat breakfast and complain about shit in peace.

Enjoy your new life, and only smoke illegal things that are green and leafy.

Know that many of us are appreciative for who you are and what you have done for us... Thank you and Congratulations~~

My appreciation for our soldiers is beyond words. America is having some rough times right now but it's still the best country in the world and that's because our soldiers made it that way and are keeping it that way...thanks seems such a small word to say for all they've done.

Been there, done that.

Thanks for serving, the best part?

What you learned, and did, and some of your friends will not go away, except with time. (And you will find parade rest normal when you talk to people, but they won't!)

I had fun back in '91-'92, during Desert Storm.

Things have since changed. (But I can still go to sleep standing up!)

You will still get up way too early. Eventually, you might not.
You will still want to salute people for odd reasons.
You will find you are one of 3 people at a high school football game that salute the colors automatically, even while not in uniform, or the military.

You will still cuss a lot, and say "Hoo-wa" for dumb reasons.
(In my case, "What the Fuck, Over")
You will still be able to tear down a 16 in no time flat, a 60 (obsolete for you) when you need to, and laugh when you watch Predator, or any "war" movie that isn't even close.

Other people won't get the jokes you tell. Or the stories.

But us ex-military will.

PFC. (my name here), 45th Infantry, 1st & 180th. MOS=11C10, Desert Storm.
My mother and father both served in Vietnam, my grandfather in WW2, both my great uncles in WW2, one of which did WW2, Korea and Vietnam. My foster brother did Bosnia.

Yeah, I know what you mean. The "new" wears off after a while though.........
You will find you will miss quite a bit too, and some of it not at all.
You will also find it weird to eat when you want, and what you want, when you want. And NOT keep your Girlfriend (M-4) next to you all the time.

There will be days you wake up wondering where the hell you are, and it takes a while to remember where you AIN'T at.

So, from one FNG Fubar Cherry, Have a good One!

(Damn, I see the new uniforms, I miss the old BDU's and the Class A's with the Cunt Caps. Now? I see a Beret and wonder if we went French...........)

May 4 @ 8:23AM this mean we can make beautiful movies together now? Sell them on the net, make a bundle of money, sue each other in court over who gets most of it (after all I'll be doing all the best work in the movie ;) then over the rights to the story of how it all happened?

Very seriously, thank you! You deserve the peace of mind and I hope you enjoy it!!! :)

Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!!!
