this is just a general thought i've had lately, and i do have them from tie to time, but damn, the headaches they bring. anyway, once past the discomfort of the head aches, i got to looking at the matches a search would bring up. within a 150 mile range, 16 hits. out of that 16, 10 not on in the last 3 months, but one of those has a new profile. 1 has been online today, and 2 within the last 3 days. the rest, 3 weeks to a month.

so what has happened to all these ladies out there?

Over three months ago can be years ago. If people don't come back, the profiles just lay around like dead fish washed up on the beach.

i know, i've seen the same thing on other sites as well. sure does make it hard to find a good one when they jsut vanish tho. lol

You know duster, I've never done a search on AMD or MD. In all the years I've been in singles sites I would bet I haven't used the search a dozen times. I have rarely contacted a man first. I have sent a few winks but I am pretty sure I've never sent an actual message to contact a man first. I'm just not comfortable with it.

As for those old profiles...some sites hide their 'cancel account' so good that probably people just quit trying to figure out how to remove their profiles and walk away.

When I want out of a site and can't figure out how to do it, I contact the site and tell them I want out...I don't want even one of my profiles out there for all to see when I'm no longer active there. I'm funny that's just me.

Most "dating" sites don't want you to remove your long as you have a profile posted, you are a "member"....that includes all the "fake" profiles....This increases their "membership" numbers, and means more money for the owners via advertising. Also, for the most part, larger memberships tend to encourage more people to become "paid" members.

Just sayin'......
