Police find woman's mummified body posted 4/25/2008 9:46:27 PM | 0 kudos what's this?     report abuse tagged: humor, weird, news, death, straddle   StraddleMyNose Oh hell, just when you thought that you have heard everything something like this pop's up in the news. lol This happened in Detroit. Police say they found the partially mummified body of a woman in her 80's on the kitchen floor of a house where her mentally troubled sister was living. Police say they think the sister had been living with the body for one to three years. A local newspaper says authorities removed the surviving sister who is also in her 80's to a crises center and appears to have mental problems. Police said they went to the house after a neighbor had called. And thoughts on this subject? This reminds me of the story of a woman's family that kept her in a chair in her bedroom after she had long passed to keep her check coming. YUCK! A lot of crazy people out there people. 	There are stories like this that happen about once a year. The last one I recall involved a city auctioning off a house for back taxes. When the new owner took possession and went in for the first time, they found the mummified previous owner. Seems that the retired woman had her checks sent to direct deposit and certain bills were paid automatically. Mail was delivered through a slot in the door. Still you would think that the overgrown lawn would be a clue.

	A friend of mine from Columbus, Ohio went to school with the real Wendy. Said she looked like her dad (ugly) and was an overweight stuck up bitch.

She didn't look overweight to me. As for her looks, she looked a little like a "plain jane" sort of way. Not really pretty, but not ugly either.

	It's sad really. At least the surviving sister is receiving proper medical care now. Kind of wonder why it took the neighbor anywhere from 1 to 3 years to call though...I mean...seems the stench of a decaying would have made someone wonder what was going on. Not only that..but there wasn't anyone that visited to check on them? No family?
