This has been in the news over the past few days. A construction worker's bid to curse the Yankees by planting a Red Sox jersey in their new stadium was foiled Sunday when the team removed the offending shirt from it's burial spot in the ballpark. After locating the shirt in a service corridor behind what will be a restaurant in the new Yankee stadium, construction workers jackhammered through the remaining two feet of concrete Sunday and pulled it out. The team learned that a Sox rooting construction worker had buried the shirt from A New York Post on Friday. Part of this story is from the AP in the newspaper I just read. The Yankees plan on going after this construction worker with charges. A possible $50,000 fine against the worker.

Do you think the construction worker is getting what he deserves, or do you think it's more of the Yankees going overboard on this one worrying about a "curse" with a rival baseball team?

I think a curse is silly. I think the worker should be punished by his employers, but charges being brought up against him? That may be going a little overboard. They should have just left the shirt there.

This construction worker was making $88 an hour, most likely much more than you and I maek combined when he did this. He also has ties to the Gambino family and has had his share of run ins with the law. He lives in the Bronx and is such a Yankee hater that he did this. I say, go after him and make him pay restitution. If I did something this stupid at my job, they would have my ass! LOL

It won't hold. If the curse realy does exist first you have to prove potential harm and then you have to get past the whole religion legal defense (curses and all...religion you know) and even then its a suckers bid.

No this is just stupid. They should encourage this shit just to get the fans more rialed up. Hold contest to see which fans can do the most rediculous stunts of this order.

A jersey would not comprimise the structure...a body might...you know gas bubbles and all...so if he had burried a goat the story might be different...

Oh theres an idea, burry a pig on the grounds of the team with the most jews and muslims on staff...

One can imagine a thousand little funny curses we could do. After all...that is the nature of sports. Would you rather he had kidnapped a mascott...or just a mascott costume?

Lets be realistic in our charges people. Lest the world think us unreasonable.

On another note...these are supposed to be wanna fuck blogs...

Its in the sex catagory...so folks I have to do this.

Anyone want to perform a sex magic ritual to ward off the curse? Lets all have an orgy on the field... lets invite players and cheerleaders from the local football teams (college...highschool-only the 18 year old ones of course, pro, semi pro, ect). Lets see if we can cleanse the ground with our bodily juices.

Bet you didn't I could hijack this into a wanna fuck blog like that...

Nah, they fed him to the piggies. As my cousin Kurt said after he divorced his ex-mafia tied wife...if I disapear don't eat the sausage...man that chick was a bitch.

Probably shouldn't say that... ahh living on the edge.

The YANKEES said they MAY press criminal charges. The act was done with malicious intent so whatever happens to the guy, he's got nobody to blame but his sorry ass self. Also, the YANKEES donated the jersey along with a YANKEES jersey to the Jimmy fund to be auctioned off to help the kids ( I think it's cancer ). So at least they made a positive spin on something that was meant as nothing but a negative.

I'm a huge Red Sox fan and I think the shirt thing is funny. I'm sure Yankee fans will disagree though. Planting a shirt in the new Yankee stadium isn't going to cause a curse anymore than anything else will cause a curse. I think the worker who planted it should have to pay for any work they had to do to remove it plus a heavy fine and of course lose his job

I agree with straddle, have his employers deal with it not the team. :>)

Being from NY and a die hard Yankee hater I find it funny as shit. He did not do this with any kind of malicious intent as some of you think. In an interview he stated that it was more of a prank or a joke.

Also planting the jersey in no way weakened the concrete or put the structure in any danger. As usual the Yankee's are reacting with their usual sue happy attitude. Whenever things go wrong they sue sue sue. Let the company he works for discipline him in whatever way they see fit.

Also for the record only the jersey that was buried got donated. They Yankee's did not donate anything of their own.

Castignoli scoffed at the top Yankee honcho's ready dismissal.

"Tell Hank he can come meet me if he wants to try - and tell him to bring [catcher Jorge] Posada, because he's the one Yankee I can't stand."

How many people know this?
Posada kept going to work, essentially keeping the distressing news to himself. Even after he initially heard the diagnosis that his son had craniosynostosis. Even after he found out that Jorge IV would have to undergo serious surgery. Even after the delicate surgery last August on the then 8-month-old. Posada stayed silent and kept playing, a piece of him always focused on little Jorge.

Some good will come out of this
The shirt would be cleaned up and sent to the Jimmy Fund, a charity affiliated with Boston's Dana-Farber Cancer Institute. Along with that, New York will send a Yankees Universe T-shirt, which is sold to benefit Memorial Sloan-Kettering Cancer Center.

The money should go to into craniosynostosis research.

I think its stupid, what kind of charge are they going to put up - charged with jinxing another team? Ya OK! Just my opinion, but OMG let it go and dont charge him! Have a great day all!

I saw this story on the news yesterday and had to laugh at the absurdity of it. I mean c'mon....if he really wanted to curse the Yankees....all he had to do was plant a Tigers jersey....
