I heard that comment though its extreme but not far from reality.... if crops don't grow.... live stock can't eat..... we'll deplete the fish...

Well then I plan on both starving myself and getting old. As it is everyone is always looking for the biggest, freshest, youngest piece of meat.

It's not unheard of in protein deficient cultures.
You have three basic kinds of cannibilism. You have gourmet, ritualistic and survivial. Of course theyre are sub catagories such as opportunistic, but thats just splitting hairs.
Heres the real question, would you object to us eating instead of burrying the dead? Bear in mind that in some cultures its actualy an insult to not eat someone once theyre dead (one going as far as making sure the flesh is ripe as to not confuse this ritual with everyday eating-as to ease the conscience of the relatives and friends who must consume your flesh).
The situation described is not all together unheard of in human history.
I could go into details, but I'd have to remember where I put my copy of "death to dust"...
