Tomorrow is a big day for me. Those of you who know me know that recently I was given a second chance. But with conditions. The doctors pretty much told me to eat properly and exercise and lose 90 lbs. by the end of the year. The process begins tomorrow. If I lose 10 lbs. per month I'll be right on schedule. I plan on keeping a journal and losing the weight. In the journal I'll document my eating habits as well as my exercise routine. Since i'm pretty confident about losing the weight I may just try to get my journal published afterwards. If anyone can help me with that it would be appreciated. If anyone wants to embark on a similar journey then climb aboard. And away we go....

weight loss, the colesterol, high blood pressure and diabetes would most likely go away. They said the sleep apnea and asthma would be easier to deal with also, and that the sleep apnea may dissappear all together.

Ok I'm with the game plan now.. What I was going to say earlier to you is that when you embark on this new "life" I suppose the important thing is for it to not be a fad but a lifestyle change. That's absolutely crucial to your success, hon. Its a lifestyle way of behaving. Making better food choices, exercising etc. Being overweight is brutal on all your systems.

Thats why NO diets ever work on a permanent basis and the companies that target overweight people know that. Jenny Craig, WeightWatchers...they see you coming from a mile and no I'm not saying that you're going to use them but the point is that it's the lifestyle that needs to change. (sorry for the rant)

I really hope you plot this thru and it works for you hon.. Take care

Seriously, I, like everyone am pullin for ya, Bro. And I know ya can do it. And heck, ya got a cottoncandy dragon wantin to pull it with ya, how can ya go wrong?

And if all else fails, let me know, and I will get ya signed up on this new program I just saw that's guaranteed to work:

A fellow was ordered to lose 75 pounds by his doctor. As he wondered how in the heck he would ever do it, he ran across an ad in the newspaper for a guaranteed weight loss program. "Guaranteed my ***", he thought to himself, but desperate, he calls them up and subscribes to the 3 day 10 pound weight loss program.

The next day there is a knock at his door and when he answers, there stands before him a voluptous, athletic, beautiful babe dressed in nothing but a pair of running shoes and a sign around her neck. She introduces herself as a representative of the weight loss company.

The sign reads, "If you can catch me you can have me!"

Without a second thought he takes off after her. A few miles later, huffing and puffing, he finally catches her and has his way with her.

After they are through and she leaves, he thinks to himself, "I like the way this company does business."

The same girl shows up for the next two days and the same thing happens. On the fourth day he weighs himself and is delighted to find he has lost ten pounds as promised.

So, he calls the company and orders from them their 5 day/ 20 pound program. As expected, the next day there's a knock at the door and there stands the most stunningly beautiful, sexy woman he has ever seen in his life, wearing nothing but running shoes and a sign around her neck that reads, "If you can catch me, you can have me."

He's after her in a shot. This girl is in great shape and it takes a while to catch her, but when he does, it's worth every cramp and wheeze. She is by far the best he's ever had. For the next four days, the same routine happens and much to his delight on the fifth day, he weighs himself and found he has lost another twenty pounds as promised!

He decides to go for broke and calls the company to order the 7 day/50 pound loss program. "Are you sure," asks the representative on the phone, "this is our most rigorous program..." "Absolutely," he replies. "I haven't felt this great in years!"

The next day there is a knock at the door and when he opens it he finds Richard Simmons standing there wearing nothing but pink racing spikes and a sign around his neck that reads, "If I catch you, I can have you!"

My cousin did the stomach band surgery thing..... and while that is extreme...... losing weight has given her the results you are looking for..... lower blood pressure, lower blood sugars, and just plain feeling a lot better. More energy.

I had another cousin who was told to quit smoking, drinking, and lose some weight. He did none of the above and lasted about 6 months. I can't help but wonder if he thought they were kidding or ?????

Good luck to you.

You can do it!! Like the others have said, don't do a "diet" they may work but eventually you'll go off it and re-gain the weight plus. It's a lifestyle change.

I lost 90 lbs then last year slipped off my schedule and re-gained 25... Now I'm back on track and I've lost 12 lbs. in just over 2 weeks and this time I'm gonna make my goal that I started for nearly 4 years ago.

I am here to support you too...just e-mail me anytime. Catch ya on the walking trail hun and hands ya a kudo...you can eat it, it ain't got no calories....

You can do it!!! check out my losing my ass blog! I weighed this morning and I'm still dropping weight even though I had pizza and a sub this past weekend! It's not huge leaps at a time, but then I've learned that you keep it off better if you do it slowly! I've been sticking to the Carbohydrate addicts diet. I eat mostly lean protein and green stuff. One meal a day I have a small portion of carbs. It keeps me from going on an all out binge and it's working so far! I've lost just over 8 pounds. Some just before I started the challenge here in the office. If it ever quits raining here it will help as several of us get out and walk around the block on lunch hour. You can do it! And I've got some great low calorie, low fat, no sugar recipes if you need some! Best of luck to ya!

I'm doing a challenge with a friend and some of the things we've learned are:
1. keep a good journal. It's amazing how many hidden calories you consume and not realize.
2. Reduce sugar intake. I indulge once a week so that I don't feel deprived but I make it a smaller portion. Then I exercise extra to cover the calories or eat a salad for a meal.
3. We are taking it 5 pounds at a time. It's a much smaller goal and seems more atainable and I'm not so overwhelmed.
4. In my daily journal I also write 5 things I'm thankful that day. Helps me remember why I'm doing this.
5. DRINK WATER
6. Variety - and remember you can have the things you like you just have to watch your portion sizes (a big killer) and if it's high in calories have a salad to go with it

Good Luck Sweetie!!
