.... got me thinking. And.........

I remembered…


There are some little tidbits of wisdom that where shared with me through the years that still echo in my head (and at times in my heart) Just 4 different thoughts shared with me by 4 different men at 4 different times.

1) “Some times a mans gotta do what a mans gotta do”. Shared with me by my Grandpa as he held the door open for me when I told him I was running away from home. I was about 8.

2) “ Life is like a rope that we climb. If you find yourself slipping, tie a knot in the end and hang on. Someone will be along to help you and they won’t let you fall”. Told to me by a grade school principal in N.Y. after I was caught and brought back after running away again. I was about 10.

3) “If you’re going to be a ditch digger then be the best ditch digger you can possibly be”. Told to me by my Dad so many times through the years I can’t even count them.

4) “Sometimes an Orange is just an Orange”. Told to me a couple of years back by my cousin Doc.


I wondered…

As the years and my life seemed to have let compassion be replaced with apathy am I now finding myself back at that place again where that battle can be fought again?

Why is it that the littlest Hearts seem to have to suffer the greatest hurts?

Can a Heart truly ever release what it knows or thinks it knows and just let Love happen and fill it again?

After 56 revolutions just where am I suppose to be? I’m good (for the most part) with how things are. But I still wonder.

All the what ifs, should have’s, and could have’s never seem to be too far away. Does that ever change?

What about all this wisdom I kept hearing about as a youth? When does that happen? Is there a magic day it all becomes clear and all answers suddenly appear?



I’m thankful for…

The little gifts God gives me.

The sunrise’s I get to see.

The gentle breezes I feel.

The music I hear all the time.

The hearts that have shared mine.

The minds that have shared mine.

The freedoms I enjoy everyday.

The laughter.

The tears.

The dreams that were realized.



The Beatles where right…
