passed my degree now! (wayhay!) and concentrating on DIY, business consultancy and journalism. my current ambitions are to make the home nice, get some articles published (i'm freelance) ... longer term to open a local newspaper or magazine of my own. if i can make some money out of consultancy in the meantime all well and good ... i'd also like to spend some time on charitable projects if i feel lively enough after the DIY - like promoting my idea to cure AIDS
but , on the dating front i am not looking for any sexual relations at the moment, i will be back to romance after my DIY projects are completed, or if i make a fortune, as i reckon my home isn't good enough for any guests right now.
i would still welcome any contact for platonic friendship.

ok the idea is from molecular biology.
and stem cell technology.
it obviously needs testing, actually i had it quite a few years ago and touted round a few charites, profs, ideas web sites etc but without much interest.
it is to take stem cells from the bone marrow of the patient, find some uninfected ones, genetically modify them to be immune to HIV, ie the same as the genotype of the people who are immune to it (about 10% of europeans apparantly)
then the genetically modified, but originally from the patient cell which will presumably not provoke too much of a graft reaction can be cultured in vats and the transplanted into the patient.
later as the disease progresses it would be hoped that the transplanted cell lines would take over and give the patient a new breed of lymphocytes as the old ones got HIV

I am a freelance journalist. I don't know about the UK, but there is a demand for freelance medical journalists here across the pond, particularly if you can write to the AMA style sheet.
