Hmmm….at first you may think what an odd combination….
Not at all….I have thought about this…for all of 5 minutes…….
and I feel the two items go together like Peanut Butter and Bananas  ……
.A little odd at first but then strangely satisfying a need you did not know you had…..LOL….kinda like love?........
I have noticed that many here express themselves through poems and songs and I figured
it would be fun to have a "gathering" so we could all get together and share (and drink)
like the big happy family we are…..(everyone say Awwwww! Big hug!) 
Now some of you may be asking yourselves "What exactly is a Poetry Slam?"
Well according to Poetry Slam.com it's ……..
"Simply put, a poetry slam is the competitive art of performance poetry. It puts dual emphasis on writing and performance, encouraging poets to focus on what they're saying and how they're saying it. A poetry slam is an event in which poets perform their work and are judged by members of the audience.…" Okay this is where the virtual thing comes in…since we can't see the "performance" part of the poem…..
we are just going with the poem itself and in place of performance I/We will give you props for putting the poem out here to share.
We are also going to change the rules a bit (yes again!) by saying that you do not have to written the poem yourself.
You may share your favorite poem (be sure to tell us the author even if it is Anonymous)
or you can even share a song with lyrics so fabulous that you feel they are poetry.
(Hey, we are really flexible here)…….
The point is that I want everyone to be able to participate.

I WANT....when I read your words...I want...what?...to be where you are?..to know who you are?...to be what you want?..yes! He is...funny and flattering and soothing and exciting and..mmmm...delicious and warmth..and all the good things..and mine? How can I miss you when I have never met you? Never seen you face to face..never touched my hand to yours..still I miss you comfort_I want to give that to you_distance prevents me from holding you, physically soothing you_all I have are words love Wanna play?_get silly_laugh and giggle_have fun_forget that we are responsible Adults_Spin in the grass, fall down laughing
Oooops almost forgot to mention the TGIF Celebration……What can I say….its Friday and I think we should celebrate.
