Okay, so evidently we all know how to use a computer and what the internet is and what it's capable of..At least to some degree.
And I say some degree because I will plead to being one of those people who are, well no other word comes to mind besides, kind of computer illiterate...at least lacking in a lot of computer skills.. I really gotta do something about that..

All of us know we can chat with people all over the world that we would have never, in a million years, had a chance to even know existed if it weren't for the internet..
Some of those people are good people..some not so much.. But hey, that's the same as everyday in the "real" world life. We exchange nice sentiments, we exchange nasty sentiments.... and some people don't know how to be nice or shut up so luckily we also have delete buttons. Kind of like a giant eraser and shredder together, except you don't have to empty the trash can part, or clean up the mess.

We send emails, we send egreeting cards, we send virtual gifts and even cyber sex.....but do you ever take the time and the effort to hand write anything to anyone anymore?... A card, whether it be for a B-day, holiday, just because? A note saying have a good day, just wanted to say hi or I love you to that special someone? A letter, maybe? We do all remember what those are, right?

When is the last time you actually wrote something to someone and it did not involve using your computer?

When is the last time someone wrote something to you...did it make you feel important, special or maybe make you feel good? Or was it just a yea, whatever thing?

Christmas I sent out cards! I enjoy opening mail (that isn't a bill) I also drop a few lines to people who don't have computers. But they are old old friends who can read my writing

I just sent a birthday card to my Dad today sweetie and yes I hand wrote it all tho my writing sucks so bad that I can't even read it let alone anyone else. As you said I am very computer illiterate and some things I just have to do by hand and that brings up another discussion but we won't go there right now LOL.

Well, Treas you have saw my handwriting..............resemblence of a serial killer no doubt, sadly I once had beautiful handwriting and because I do so much on the computer I hardly write anymore...........and it takes practise..............I dont send out cards very often.......and if i could figure out a way to do the addresses on my computer without to much work.....................i would address them with computer written address labels...........the post office kinda likes to be able to read what the address is..............I havent actually sat down and wrote a hand written 'letter' (I usually add something to cards if i send them) in probably 10 yrs.

Sometimes I hand write my blogs first then type them or sometimes a comment I make on anothers blog turns into a blog so I hand write it cuz I don't know how to copy paste stuff.

I used to write letters alot when I was overseas...and received letters in return. I guess that's the last time I actually got a 'letter' from anyone...it was from my mom and I still have it.

I don't like writing because I do have terrible handwriting...and it hurts to write anything long and drawn out...my hands and fingers cramp up. I'm always having to jot down notes at work on phone calls I make, but even that hurts at the end of the day.

To me...email isn't that much different from letter writing...just much faster. I correspond with family that way alot, sending emails to cousins or my dad letting them know how I'm doing and what's going on...and I enjoy it just as much when I get a reply from them.

My niece visited me at work last week (?) and I had to walk away from my desk and she had to leave while I was gone. She wrote me a short note telling me she had to run and to have a nice day! And yes, it made me feel good :)

My children leave me notes at the computer desk....LOL. But they are hand written!! I do not write a lot of letters, but I write daily due to school-taking notes etc.
