I live in part of my state that's on the borderline of the Cincinnati market and the Huntington -Charleston West Virginia market (The county next to us to the west is Adams which is in the Cincinnati market, lucky them). I guess you probably know what market my Scioto County in the state of Ohio has been put in. That's right, it has been considered part of the West Virginia market for years now and I'm not happy with that especially with laws passed back in 1991 that gives a "local station" (which are the West Virginia stations because we're in their market area) the right to request from cabl;e companies partial blackout from other regional or out-of-town stations. I remember back in 1984 when I was 17 we had three Cincinnati tv stations, and today, we're down to one from Cincinnati. Of course I would love to see more Cincinnati tv stations put back on here on my cable system. As you may know my cable company called Adelphia was bought out by Time Warner Cable and Comcast in a joint deal and it's taken over a year now for the transaction to go through, and it's still not effective yet as far as I know because today I got my Adelphia bill in the mail, but I also got something from Time Warner out of Cincinnati offering high speed internet service here now, and my thought was THAT'S GREAT! I have been looking forward to Time Warner arriving here to my area, so hopefully them taking over the cable here is ever so close. With that I am hoping that Time Warner Cable put's a few more Cincinnati stations on here in my county. I have requested that with Adelphia, but with no luck it still hasn't happened. I know we're roughly just within the 50 mile radius of the city Huntington which is in West Virginia, but the city of Charleston is like almost in the middle of West Virginia and is roughly about the same distance from me as Cincinnati and Columbus in my own state and those stations in Charleston talk about their state capital and around West Virginia, so to me the Charleston stations do us no service in having them on here. So Time Warner, if you're listening, please give us more stations from our own state of Ohio, like from Cincinnati if you can reach an agreement with these stations from there! :) I have also checked into satellite dishes here and I was told a few times by a few sources that they could only offer broadcast stations from my own market area which is from West Virginia. So until the law changes and I am able to receive a market from my own state that is considered regonial I will stick with cable. It would help if the people here would take more of an interest in contacting our cable company requesting these broadcast stations.
