 Ladies, what are the two gifts you want your lover to get you for your birthday? Chocolate always comes to mind, and that works a lot of the times. I hate getting greeting cards, they seem to go to waste and not be very practical. Then there are flowers, I love red roses, and I assume a lot of women love them too.

I'm always surprised by ANY gift. I feel if you've taken the time to shop after knowing me, you'll know what I want or what I like.
But good hints are, art posters, Music, books, DVD's, Something we found amusing when we were out together. and most importantly you time. Nothing worse than sitting home alone on your Birthday, Like I did this year.

I know sounds corny but Love and affection would do it for me and to hear I love you and want you is enough also !!! i might get shot for that but to me a relationship isnt bassed on what he can give me in gifts but what he can give me in emotions and love  Sure dont get me wrong its nice to get something once in a while but all in all love and affection just does it for me .

Straddle, I'm with you on the practicality angle.
There are times when flowers, chocolate and cards are right, like at the start or special occasions, but I've found that more personal gifts are appreciated more.
Shows an interest in something about her besides the "gifts" she gives you all the time. I gave one special lady a guitar because she had expressed an interest in learning how to play. This had "snowball" benefits also, as got to spend more time with her showing her chords and stuff.
As for me, I honestly would rather just have her time and attention than a material gift, but surprises are always nice too.

Ya know... in my last relationship, I happen to be off work that day(My birthday), I worked a fucked up schedule at the time.. but anyways...it was during the week.
The Lady took off work that day to be with ME!!!! Thats right lil ole me!
That was so awesome, I never had anyone do that for me..before, ya know?!( we played ALL DAY LONG!!!  )
A very special day it was!!!!
I sure could use one of those days About right now!!!
