It's titled A weekend in New Orleans,

Hope you all enjoy it.

Very nice LadyBlue, I never realized New Orleans had such beautiful places. Certainly deserves a greenie.

My little brother is a tulane graduate. I therefore spent a little time in new orleans, good food, lots of drunk topless women (year round on burbon street) alcholic slushy stands every five steps... not a bad place to visit. If you can stand the smell. Which surprisingly didn't ruin my appetite. Over all I give the city a ten... givin that you know what streets to stay off of at night and travel in packs... especialy if your female.

Not exactly the safest place on earth, the local frat once dragged a cop to death and got off with a fine. The band sum 41 got beaten up at the boot just for being famous (same frat did it). The mayor was caught with hundreds of dollars in bribe money in his freezer, got re-elected. The say there are only two laws they enforce, don't piss in the streets and don't kill anyone... the second is negotiable and the first goes at the window come mardi gra (an event segregated by race, with a white parade a black parade and a jewish parade. The black parade purposely breaks down every year becouse the white parade is behind it... this would be funny exept the blacks won't let the jews into theyre parade either).

You know, i was out the door every morning before 8, trying to catch the morning light. Would come back mid afternoon, usually to catch a few zzz so i could go back out at night. I traveled ALL over the French Quarter at night, I had my money and ID in on pocket ofI my jeans, my Cell phone and spare battery for my camera in another and a $2500 camera slung over my shoulder. I walked the length of Bourbon street and Royal street for 3 or 4 hours the only harassment I got was for me to shot a photo of someone, they thought I was doing some kind of magazine spread or something. (if you saw my camera you'd know why) I didn't make it back to my hotel before 3 in the morning to take a quick shower and repeat it the next day. You have to know how to walk, and how to keep your eye open for all possible danger. Being with a camera though I'd probably be trying to get pictures of someone beat the hell out of someone else.

The Quarter has changed some since Katrina. The tourist are down, and it's a different crowd now. Even those mounted policeman told me that, and they're out there every night in this.I'm going to do it again this summer, when the heat is settling over the city, and it's hot and muggy, different flavor, and different kind of people.
