Sometimes I wish I were not the way I am......I tend to question things...things that most people take at face value, and develop real feelings about...and I sit there, asking my questions in my mind, wondering if I am the only one who sees the flaws.....
Someone blogged about the mistreatment of a man in a wheelchair, in Florida, by a deputy.......I should have just went with the flow, taken it at face value, and been outraged like everyone else....but.....I just had to go and watch the MSNBC video...
Perhaps things have changed...perhaps MY definition of things is different from the accepted norm of today....I don't know... ...but, my mind won't let it go.....
1. He was brought in on a TRAFFIC warrent.....am I the only one that has a problem with the thought of a quadriplegic in traffic?
2. The article refers to him as a quadriplegic...he refers to himself as one also....In reviewing the video, I see that he DOES have use of his arms and hands....so, the question arises...quadriplegic? or paraplegic ?...
3. He states in the interview that his Doctor has not reviewed his x-rays yet...Hold it...it's been 2 weeks....my doctor reviews mine within 30 minutes of when they are taken.....
4. Take a good look at the chair itself....something just don't look right about it....can't put my finger on it....yet...but something's wrong...
5. Now....watch the video again...frame by frame...starting with the point where the deputy starts to dump him...you will see both arms fly out and hands grab the arm rests of the chair, and notice he slightly pushes his weight up on his feet.....then holding the chair with his right hand, he puts his left arm down to within inches of the floor, and catches his weight as he goes down and rolls.....
I do not condone the mistreatment of anyone in the custody of police....but for some reason, I am leary of this story and smell "set up".....
Am I alone in this?
