What do women really want for Valentine's Day. Is it the chocolates, the flowers, earrings, a stuffed animal, a nice dinner away from the house? None of the above, all of the above. The day was originally meant for lovers to express their love for each other. It seems now that men are almost required to do something for the women. Women do you do anything special for your men? or is this really a one sided holiday now?

I definately do not see it as a one sided holiday... I have been known to send my man flowers at his work. Make him a romantic meal...
I like more than a prepackaged box of chocolates. Something that takes a little thought is nice...

You don't know how many Kay jewelers commercials that come on tv every five minutes.As if a man must buy their woman flowers,candy, jewelry or anyother symbolic trinket to prove himself worthy of the mating ritual once more.I figure love is everyday,not just one.

I agree that love should be shown every day not just one day..........but Valentines day, at least for me, is that one special day of the year that you make a special effort to dress up and go out with or just stay home with. When you have been married and have kids.......well life pretty much focuses around them.......this is that one time of year you and your lover get to say..........this is our day.....not anymore special for one than the other........its not a birthday......its not an annivarsary.......this is the one day set aside each year to just spend time with the one you are with no matter what. Yes there is a lot of commerialization with it........that goes for christmas and easter and any other holiday you can think of........but if you just take that one day a year to go over the top for the one you care about........than maybe all those meals that you eat in a hurry......or all those plans you have made and a kid got sick and you had to cancel.....or even if you dont have kids and your life is busy and things come up and you have to cancel this is the one day that you get to make up for all the rest of the year.than maybe its........just that one day to make that person feel more special than they have felt all year long. JMHO

vday, second best holiday to get laid on... its expected of women to put out on that day. I suppose in return we should buy something for them. But what does that say of the nature of said relationship. It's a little one sided if the man must be the one to perform ritual in order to obtain nookey.
The best holiday to get laid on is halloween, with purim comming in as number three.... well maybe not in the midwest.

Valentine's Day has always been my favorite holiday. Flowers from someone special would be wonderful...maybe be taken out to dinner or a movie...or even better....my man makes dinner for me and does the dishes without complaining. Although I do believe the day is more for women to enjoy..I always do something special for "him".

Vday is a commercialized holiday. Every day is important to the one you love. Sending someone a gift just because your thinking of them, any time of year beats this holiday !!

Why make just one day a year so special. My husband made almost everyday seem like vday. Oh there weren't flowers or candy everyday but I can't remember a day we didn't say " I love you " to each other If you truely care for someone let them know how much you do everyday. Those 3 words meant more to me than any gift

No, it's not a one sided hoilday to me. I send flowers. I've bought chocolates or even baked a favorite desert. Served him breakfast in bed to start his day out knowing he was definitely on my mind before he even woke up.
Yes, I believe everyone should show their significant other how special they are every day.But I also love the sentiment behind Valentines Day.
I miss having someone to share that with..
I love the idea of a single rose and a kiss that will make my knees go weak, and just the knowledge that he wants that day to be about the two of us.

I once rented a hotel room and went in ahead of time and put up candles, had a bottle of wine and strawberries, whip cream and chocolate, lot's of fun toys and lingerie and sexy music, that was the best I've ever given!  Besides the good head and fantastic sex......
