The truth about the truth:

God created not two sexes, but three. They were strange looking creatures, each with two heads, four arms, and four legs. The first sex was hermaphroditic. It had both a penis and a vagina. The second had two penises, so it was completely male, and the third was completely female with two vaginae.

However, they were awkward creatures. they seemed to have trouble getting around on their eight limbs...not at all like spiders; so God mercifully eased their motions. Like passing a wire through clay, he cut them each into two parts so now they had only two legs and two arms. And they each only had one head and one set of genitalia.

This allowed them to move freely around, for which they were grateful. But after a while they started to notice something. They began to miss their other half. No matter what, they felt lonely.

So that is mankind's curse. We were given our freedom to move about as we choose, but we are alone. Every time we have sex, we are trying to find our perfect match. The person we belong next to, but were separated from. And every time we are separated from them, once again we feel alone.

This was Plato's explanation for sex among the hetero- and homosexuals that live in our world, and why intimacy seems so important between them.
