One day Nasrudin was searching diligently on the ground outside his house.

His neighbors saw him and asked him what he was doing.
"I've lost the key to a great treasure." replied Nasrudin.

"Oh, a great treasure." said his neighbors, "We will help you."
So everyone joined Nasrudin, searching for his key.

The search went on for quite sometime. Finally, one of the neighbors asked,
"Nasrudin, have you any idea of the exact area you were in when you lost the key?"

"Oh yes", said Nasrudin," I lost the key in the house."

"Then why are you looking out here?", asked his bewildered neighbors.
"Because there is more light out here than in my house." replied Nasrudin.

So you're wondering why the hell did she blog this strange story. Be patient, grasshopper.

This story is symbolic. Nasrudin stories are used by Sufi in teaching excercises.

Everyone is looking for a key. Or the Key.
The one thing that they need to find Happiness, Bliss, Peace, God, Love, Joy , whatever.

Nasrudin shows us that most people look outside of themselves to find the key.

We look for the key at work, in church, in success, in Relationships,etc..

But the key is inside. Unfortunately, looking inside of ourselves can be very scary.
Waaaay too many fears to face.
Better to look outside, where the light is better.

Love, Laughter, Peace and Blessings!

That philosophy was borrowed by Gardner and Crowley for the Book Of Shadows and later by Raymond Buckley in his big blue book!

You are right...........to look inside yourself and be honest with yourself.........make the changes necessary is the key............unfortunately that does not necessarily guarentee you will find what your searching for..........tho you may find acceptance that you will never get it.

Ouch! Too painfully true!

Have I mentioned how much I appreciate your blogs. I was going to say enjoy but that would be wrong. Several have left me feeling uncomfortable at best and brought me to tears at worst. Sometimes overwhelmingly thought provoking. Yeah, sometimes that is painful too.

Anyway, a kudo for you...since they limit me to one per blog.

It seems to suggest to me the only place to find the key is to look inside; one of lifes great journeys.the only way to keep from the unbarable question. As written in the tao:the secrets still deeper secret is the gateway through which all miracles emerge.
