Medical first! The changing of a blood type posted 1/24/2008 6:58:04 PM | 2 kudos what's this?     report abuse tagged: weird, news, blood, health   StraddleMyNose I just heard on the news that a 15 year old girl from Austrailia who had receieved a liver transplant a few months back from some guy has now a new blood type. She did have a negative O blood type, and now she has the same as her donor, which is positive O. It had passed through her bones. They're (media and medical field) saying this is a first. I haven't heard the full story, just caught most of it. Any thoughts on this? Also, what's your blood type? Mine is O positive. I did ask people this about a year ago, so this is for any new people here, and for the ones that want to answer again. 	I'm A positive. Isn't it amazing the things that go on today?? We've come along way with technology....not that it had anything to do with technology, but it's awesome that her body accepted his blood like that!!

	i dont understand why the RH wasnt a problem, since i have A negative and had to get the shots when pregnant cause my husband had positive blood....

	Could go give a link to an article with more information? On the surface, that makes no sense to me (as in why or how that would happen). Then again, little about the liver makes any sense to me, thats why its my favorite internal organ. I need more A & P. Anyway, I'm one of those boring O+ people.
